#MySundaySnapshot – Lights Will Guide You Home 50/52 (2019)

Welcome to this week’s #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.

I don’t know about you but we’ve been stuck inside for most of this week. The weather has been wild and given that it’s dark by four o’clock, we’ve stayed warm and dry indoors thus the lack of photos taken recently.

#MySundaySnapshot - Lights Will Guide You Home 50/52 (2019)

After what I can only describe as a manically busy and extremely exhausting week, I took great pleasure in turning off my alarm and enjoying a rather late and lazy Saturday morning. After eventually getting up and getting the house into order, we settled in the sitting room with board games and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

I love winter weekends! It’s all about enjoying food, drinks, games, movies and each other’s company without the interruptions of the regular weekday routines.

It’s funny really, a few years back I’d have spent my Saturday night wondering what to wear and whether I should book a taxi in advance. I’d then waste money propping up the local bars whilst feeling self-conscious and wishing I’d never gone out in the first place.

Although I quite like the odd dance and a few drinks, the idea of going out just doesn’t entice me at all. I’d much rather stay at home and have fun with my family.

“When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse
When the tears come streaming down your face
‘Cause you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
What could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you”

Lovely photo and fab lyrics. The weather has been awful but sounds like you’re making the most of it x

As soon as I saw your headline, I was singing Coldplay! Definitely one of their best songs. It sounds like you’ve been making the best of the winter. I hate winter and darkness and I still go outside for a run or walk twice a day or I go crazy. I haven’t watched a Christmas film and it’s likely I won’t watch any at all – I’m not very good at sitting still!

I love that song and so appropriate for me at the moment. Five years ago my daughter was in hospital at this time and eleven years ago it was my Mum in hospital. Mum didn’t make it, but the wonderful surgeon managed to fix my little girl eventually. I love the lantern, it’s so pretty. x

Awww gosh you’ve really been through the mill bless you. So glad your little lady is ok and so sorry to hear about your mum x

I am finding it so hard to take photos with it being so dark.
It sounds like you had a lovely Saturday. x
