Welcome to this week’s #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.
Bonfire night has got to be one of my favourite festivities of the year; the excitement, the sounds, the smells, the magic of the fireworks as they light up the sky with pretty patterns, shapes, and colours – it’s mesmerising. I have fond memories of attending firework displays with my parents as a child, my Dad and I were both fanatical about fireworks so much so that he organised a surprise firework display as part of my wedding celebrations.
The weather was on our side last night as it stayed dry and the kids were elated to go to not just one but two firework displays (which were within an hour of each other). The kids were spoilt with light-up wands, light sabres and sweets galore as we huddled together in our hats, scarves, and gloves watching in amazement as the sky became aglow with a frenzy of fireworks. Come Sunday we are hoping to attend our third display of the year – and why not? We’ve missed out on so much during the lengthy lockdown, I think we deserve to catch up!
Whilst it felt great to get out and to celebrate the evening with my family (given that we’ve spent the past however long living in lockdown and unable to attend such events) I couldn’t help but shed a tear as I watched the magical fireworks dancing across the sky, it took me back to memories of Dad and whilst they are wonderful memories, it just made me miss him even more.
Thanks for reading my #MySundaySnapshot post, I look forward to catching up and sharing your #MySundaySnapshot pictures either through your own posts, social media shares or comments upon this post.

Fireworks are always fantastic, but it must be so hard to watch them and remember your dad.
It’s bitter sweet really .
A bitter-sweet moment for you. Beautiful photo!
