It may be cold outside but there’s one thing sure to lure me from the warmth of my four-wall fortress and that’s fireworks…
They may slightly dangerous and a little on the loud side but I just love watching fireworks, always have and always will. There’s something really romantic and mildly magical about seeing sparkles in the sky.
We usually visit two fireworks displays each year: one just by my parent’s place, which is a small but special event (as the pyrotechnician behind the magic just so happens to be the very same man who made the fireworks which we watched at our wedding), and the other, much bigger event takes place just down the road from where we live.
I just love the atmosphere; the smell of the gunpowder and the sparklers, the taste of treacle toffee and gingerbread, the rich taste of mulled wine, the chilly evening air and the warmth from the bonfire as you stand watching and listening to the wonderful cracks, pops, whizzes and bangs sparkle before your eyes.
We really enjoyed bonfire night this year, the weather held out and we had a wonderful week filled with the novelties of November.
Thanks for reading my #MySundaySnapshot post, I look forward to catching up and sharing your #MySundaySnapshot pictures either through your own posts, social media shares or comments upon this post.

I fully agree. There is something mystical and romantic about fireworks. Such a great capture x
Thanks Susan x
How lovely! I enjoy fireworks, but somehow Bonfire Night completely passed us by this year. We sometimes go to the local display and we usually have a few fireworks in the garden, but we didn’t do anything.
Awww what a shame x
Nevermind x
I’m glad you had such a lovely time, I can remember many a bonfire night just like that. This year we didn’t do anything and to be honest there were not many fireworks around. The kid’s managed a few oooohs and ahhhhs through the window but that’s all. We did go to a firework display last year, I just guess no-one felt up to it this year.
Nevermind – maybe next year ?
Lovely photo! We usually go to a display at a beach a few miles away but didn’t for some reason this year – it seemed to just pass us by a little!!
Awww nevermind x
We stayed inside and watched the fireworks through the window. It was a rotten wet day here and I’m surprised they still went ahead.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time.
We did – what a shame for you !
That’s a very clear shot – I find fireworks so hard to capture! #MySundaySnapshot
Thanks they are tough to take x
