Welcome to this week’s #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.
It’s officially Halloween and unfortunately the end of the half-term holidays thus we’ll be getting ourselves ready to make a return to our regular routine come tomorrow morning.
Though we’d planned to have a couple of days out as a family over the holidays, due to the extreme wet weather it wasn’t possible thus I’m a little disappointed. However, we’ve enjoyed time together as a family watching films, crafting, baking, and taking time out to relax.
It has been one of the wettest half-term holidays that I’ve ever known and at one point we wondered whether we’d be stuck for the foreseeable considering that all our local bridges were closed due to safety precautions following flood damage. Thankfully, the weather has improved a little, though there are still some deep puddles on the roads and according to the Met Office we’re due more rain shortly – I really hope that they are wrong!
We spent time gutting and carving pumpkins around the kitchen table ready to display at our door for Halloween. So long as the weather is on our side, we’re hoping to dress up and to get out for some trick or treating before packing up the school bags and getting ourselves ready for the second half of the autumn term.
Here’s wishing you a very Happy Halloween!

Thanks and to you
The pumpkins look great. That weather sounds horrible! It must be scary thinking you could get cut off. Our weather hasn’t been anywhere near as bad as that, but we’ve had a miserable half term due to my husband and daughter having Covid! Luckily they’re not too ill, but it has meant we can’t do anything, of course. And I totally failed to buy a pumpkin! Finally went to look yesterday and they were all sold out.
Oh no covid sucks 🙁
Great pumpkins, I’m sorry half term was a washout though. Good luck for getting out tonight x
Thanks
Lovely pumpkin carving, happy Halloween 🎃 #mysundaysnapshot
And to you x
Here outside Ottawa, Canada, it has been raining a lot the last two weeks. Everything is quite sodden and now rather gloomy for Halloween Night…but good atmosphere perhaps. Love the pumpkins!
Thanks x
It sounds like a good half term despite not having the days out. The weather really has been terrible. Your pumpkins look fab x
Thanks
