#MySundaySnapshot – Swan Lake 20/52 (2019)

With our son about to turn double digits this week, we loaded the car with spare clothes, a first aid kit, a rather heavy picnic and plenty of drinks then headed out with two of his friends for the day to the Tree Top Nets. Having bounced ourselves into a sweaty stupor, we eventually ran out of energy and time so took a stroll to the lakeside for lunch.

Whilst there, we watched the kayaks, boats and steamers make their way up and down Lake Windermere (it’s not actually a lake as there’s only one of them in the Lake District!) all whilst being moidered by a rather hangry swan. Thankfully we managed to hold onto and to consume our sandwiches, leaving nothing but crumbs for the swan to steal.

Despite the dull, heavy sky we avoided the wet stuff (both the rain and anyone falling into the lake although that almost happened…). It was such a lovely day; J, his friends and his sister had the time of their lives and I’m sure we will return to the Treetop Nets in the near future.
