Welcome to this week’s #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.
So here we are, it’s the weekend again! We enjoyed a rather lazy but well-deserved lay-in followed by a quick tidy and clean before my Mum popped over for a brew and some banter. This afternoon we’ve been for another walk through the fields and past the ponds with not just one but two dogs, followed by the obligatory burgers (from the van in the square) and a few beers to help wash them down.
It’s been a rather serene and satisfying Saturday. Things seem so much more settled these days and whilst that’s a good thing, I can’t help but think back upon the past year and all that we have been through. It’s been a real rollercoaster for us all, yet here we are and in some way it’s brought us all so much closer and has made us each appreciate the simple things, the little things and perhaps the most important things in life far much more than we did. I guess life is a learning curve, it’s bridge which we cross over time, our priorities and perspectives changing each step along the way.
“Across the bridge there’s no more sorrow
Across the bridge there’s no more pain
The sun will shine across the river
And you’ll never be unhappy again”
Across the Bridge – Jim Reeves

It sounds like a lovely day! The walk, burger and beers sound fantastic! x
They sure were
What a beautiful, peaceful photo.
I can relate to what you are saying so much there. Our year wasn’t as bad as yours, but we came very close to losing my dad and that has definitely made us appreciate things more, especially the time we have together.
It’s a short and delicate, fragile life x
Such a lovely photo. I think we all need to cross that bridge. x
We sure do
