It’s not too long now until the clocks leap forward and we are lavished with the lighter nights, oh how I love this time of year! Though I tend to associate the springtime with shades of yellow, pink, and pale blue, the hedgerows begged to differ this week as whilst on an afternoon stroll, I couldn’t help but notice flurries of tiny red berries beaming from the luscious, leafy, hedgerows and it got me to thinking about Christmas – I wonder if it’ll be any easier this year…
Isn’t it funny how we tend to associate particular colours, scents and scenes with certain seasons and times of the year?
With the harsh of daylight
So simple last evening
The beauty of speed
Afraid we’ve been changing
In a way I wasn’t loving
Feel those colours changing
The beauty of speed
I’m coming back for more
Out of a black and white world
Past a shooting star
The beauty of speed
See the colours changing
See the colours changing
See the colours changing”

I saw those colours and I thought ‘Christmas’ straightaway too. If my memory serves me correctly, my garden was in full bloom in the second week of April last year, so only three weeks to go! I can’t wait.
On seeing your photo I was instantly transported to my childhood (Which was an incredibly long time ago, so a feat in itself!) When my Mum walked me to primary school we passed a bush like this every day. Then the berries would fall off and cover the pavement and I remember my Mum saying not to pick them up because they were poisonous. I’m not sure if they were, but I can still visualise these little red jewels all over the pavement. By the time I came out of school they were all trampled and squished. Thank you for my trip down memory lane 🙂
Awww you are welcome x
