Though it is most definitely winter weather, there are a few little telltale signs of spring approaching and it feels so darn good. I don’t know about you but I’m done with the dark, dreary, and dismal nights, I for one can’t wait until March when the clocks leap forward offering us longer days and lighter evenings.
Though I love the snow and the winter weather, we simply haven’t seen enough of the white stuff to warrant anything other than a photograph. I’d have loved to have taken the kids sledging and to have spent time as a family building snowmen, making snow angels and pelting each other with snowballs but other than a dusting on the tops, we saw very little snow in comparison to the rest of the UK, how disappointing!
Still, it’s nice to see some snow ‘on the tops’ and to enjoy a wander out in the winter sunshine.
Wipe my nose get my new boots on
I get a little warm in my heart when I think of winter
I put my hands in my father’s glove
I run off where the drifts get deeper
I hear a voice you must learn to stand up
For yourself, cause I can’t always be around”

What a beautiful photo! We had a few hours of snow last Sunday (as you can see from the photo!) – just enough time for a walk and a snowman. Like you, I can’t wait for spring.
Snow is nice for a day, then you get fed up of it and the trouble it causes. Is it worth it? We got quite a bit (The Little Man measured 9cm in our garden!) But I was happy to see it melt away. I love your photo, it looks like the perfect amount of snow for me 🙂
I have noticed it being lighter on an evening but I can’t wait for spring to properly arrive.
We haven’t had any snow either, just thick layers of frost. x
