Welcome to this week’s #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.
It seems as if the council are simultaneously working on every road around our local area at present thus travel is a little tricky for the time being. As a result of the ongoing infrastructure improvements (or most likely twenty cups of tea and a dab of tarmac every other hour), we’ve had to change our usual route to and from school.
Whilst I originally began taking the back roads via a railway crossing, cones then appeared and low and behold further road works began upon the ‘diversion route’. This left me with no other option than to go ‘offroad style’ bouncing over broken concrete and potholes the size of a small country just to get my darling daughter to and from school. Whilst I wasn’t entirely keen on taking my beloved Mini over such rough terrain, it was worth the effort just to see the seaside scenery first thing each day.
Thanks for reading my #MySundaySnapshot post, I look forward to catching up and sharing your #MySundaySnapshot pictures either through your own posts, social media shares or comments upon this post.

That is stunning, but I feel your pain with the roadworks! A couple of months ago it felt like there was no way out of our village without temporary traffic lights.
Currently there are night time roadworks near to me that involve nearly a two hour detour! It’s crazy. They just close the roads with little thought nor care.
I hate roadworks, there have been times when it’s quicker to walk to school than tackle the road works. We don’t have a seaside scenic route, but when I could walk, we could go down the steps to the canal and walk along there, coming back up opposite the school. Sometimes the scenic route is nicer.
It is indeed
It is annoying when the council seem to work on every road. We had 2 roads closed locally because they worked on both which caused chaos. What a gorgeous view. It seems like it was worth the diversion just for that, as long as it’s a one off of course x
It was worth it – it was not a one off lol
Now it depends on what type of beloved Mini you were talking about, the new BMW version or the old Classic, if it is the latter I would certainly be concerned.
It is indeed a new model but it’s my pride and joy
Road works are a right royal pain aren’t they! X #mysundaysnapshot
