I woke to a bright and beautiful day; the fields were a luscious green under the glow of the early winter sunshine. Other than a few fluffy, white clouds, blue skies prevailed – this set me into a fabulous mood for what would be a super, sunny Saturday.
Whilst Paul took J for a much-needed haircut, E and I got on with the usual clearing and cleaning around the house. Once I’d sorted and sanistised the house to a satisfactory level I then set about sifting through my son’s drawers, pulling out any outsized clothing and putting it to one side for a friend.
I love clearing clutter especially so when I’m aware that by doing so I’m also benefitting others, whether that be family, friends, or charity.
By the time the boys had got back, I had made my way into the garage otherwise known as the hoarder’s haven. By this time I had put together almost six bin bags full of clothes, books, toys and such-like all of which were then loaded into the car ready for distribution.
Once we’d had dinner, Paul took the kids for a blast on the beach. I meanwhile popped out to drop off some bits and bobs at my folks’ house. It was the most glorious drive and with my Amazon playlist as a backing track, I was feeling good.
With two bags delivered I was on a roll and upon arriving home decided to start listing all the outdated and unused tech from around the house with three items selling almost instantly – good old eBay!
With pennies in my Paypal account, I decided what better time to replace my son’s broken lava lamp. It was at this point that I got a little carried away with myself and my accomplishments as I failed to notice that what had appeared to be the ideal item was not listed at £9.99 as I had first thought, no it was priced at £99.99!
Sadly it was too little too late and despite calling eBay for their help in requesting a refund, they were unable to assist.
So much for selling and making savings! One stupid mistake and I’m a tonne in the hole and left waiting in hope that the seller will respond to my numerous messages and refund my cancelled order. Why is it that no matter how hard I try, I always seem to get things so wrong?!
Rather amused by my buying blunder, my husband very kindly treated me to a steak dinner, following which we watched the latest version of the Lion King. Though I still prefer the original, animated film it was nice to sit and to enjoy a film with the family.
It’s been a super busy Saturday for sure – the kids enjoyed their time at the beach and the park, I enjoyed clearing my house (and in turn my head) as well as the drive out and other than my spending slip up it was a splendid Saturday.
… and just as I am about to finish editing and writing this post – low and behold I have received a refund! Scrap ‘super’ – Saturday was SPLENDID!

That is a glorious shot, it never looks that bright & blue here just now. I’m so glad you got your refund after all the hard work you put in. Who pay £99 for a lava lamp? X
Exactly £99 lava ? I assume it just be liquid gold 😂
What a beautiful photo! I’m so glad you got your refund too.

Me too!
That is really a lovely bright sunny shot for what turned out to be a super day. I’m so glad you got your refund. I tend to use Amazon more than Ebay but I’ve never had issues getting refund from either site. Well done on all your de-cluttering. x
Thanks I also use amazon too
It was such a lovely day yesterday! Still cold but the sun was glorious!
