Welcome to this week’s #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.
I was really hoping for a positive start to the new year. As per usual, things didn’t go quite to plan and I spent the first weekend of the new year in hospital. Thankfully I’m now home and following over a week spent dosed up on various antibiotics and pain relief I seem to be on the road to recovery.
Life seems so strange of late, nothing quite feels as it should. Whilst convalescing I’ve spent the past week watching various BBC-based nature shows and programs and I’ve got to say, it’s not just life that doesn’t feel quite like it should – our planet isn’t quite as it should be either. My ten-year-old daughter is quite the little activist and recently painted this picture of our planet, I find it both beautiful and heartbreaking considering the little details that she has included.
I’ve not had the time nor the opportunity to take any photographs as such this week given that I could barely walk nevermind getting my camera out. Thus I decided to start the year with some critical thinking for us all – we need to take action to protect our planet, we need to take responsibility, and we need to put a REAL plan together to save Earth not just for us but for our future generations. We either act now or never… as it really will be too late.
Thanks for reading my #MySundaySnapshot post, I look forward to catching up and sharing your #MySundaySnapshot pictures either through your own posts, social media shares or comments upon this post.

I hear you completely. It’s frustrating when the new year doesn’t start as planned. But let me say this: your daughter’s picture is a powerful reminder that hope still thrives, even amidst hardship. Her awareness and passion are both inspiring and poignant.
So sorry to hear you’ve been in hospital and hope you are fully recovered soon.
Your daughter’s painting is fantastic and definitely thought provoking.
Get better soon! I very much agree with you on the environment. I hope to make my home have some solar power in 2024, and I plan on voting for people who will take action to remove carbon from the air, with draw-down plans or with less fossil fuel, or both. I recycle a lot, and I hope that the recycled items are actually recycled. Progress will be expensive, but it can happen. May 2024 be a good year.
