Welcome to this weekās #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.
So here we are in 2021 and let’s be honest now, not an awful lot (other than the calendar year) has really changed. I feel it may well be a bit of a jaded January as there’s naff all to do and naff all to look forward to…
We’ve spent this afternoon ‘de-christmassing’ the house by taking down the decorations and storing them all away in the attic. I’ve since vacuumed and tidied the living room to within an inch of its life and though I usually love clearing clutter, it feels a little glum this year.
No more twinkly lights, no more festive food or seasonal sofa-surfing – it’s just short, dark days and long, cold nights for a few months until spring offers us some respite. On that note, I’m off to try and shake the January blues with a hot, bubbly bath.
Here’s a shot the hubby took whilst out on a winter walk with the kids and the dog – the sunlight is beautiful but sadly it’s so short-lived at this time of the year.
“Hey Blue, here is a song for you
Ink on a pin
Underneath the skin
An empty space to fill in
Well there are so many sinking now
You’ve got to keep thinking
You can make it thru these waves”
Joni Mitchell – Blue

What a beautiful photo. Sunlight is definitely very short-lived at this time of year.
January is always a tough month, with the long, dark days and nothing to look forward to. This year will be even harder with so much uncertainty, but hopefully things will start to look better in the spring!
I soooo hope so
Love the photo, if it were taken here it would be splattered with snow! January is always one of the most difficult months to get through. Last year, as it’s my first born’s birthday in January, we celebrated with a fabulous meal out. That was the last of the year!
I hope that this year brings you a little more peace, grief is cruel but we still survive. Thanks for hosting. x
Thanks so much x
Beautiful photo. Iām taking the decorations down tomorrow when my son is back to school
Enjoy !
