Like most kids at this point in the school year, ours have had a really busy month with endless activities, trips, and things to do before the summer holidays land.
Earlier this month E and her class spent a few days down south in the big smoke of London. As anticipated, it was the highlight of the year as they visited countless museums, took a ride on the London Eye, watched a show, went shopping, and strolled through the sights of the city including the likes of Buckingham Palace, Westminster, and Big Ben where this slightly blurry but beautiful photo was very kindly snapped. She’s since had sports day, won yet another school award, enjoyed a taster day at her secondary school to prepare for her September and taken part in various other events and activities which have kept her entertained and occupied.
J meanwhile has completed a week’s work experience in a local shop – he enjoyed every minute and from what I’ve been told he worked his socks off and was a star as I’d expected. He is now in the midst of figuring out his plans following his GCSEs next summer… Will he take Sociology, Psychology, Law, Politics, Geography or History he isn’t sure but he’s at least narrowed it down to the choice of six subjects and a particular college or should I say Sixth Form?
The year seems to be flying by like a whirlwind – It won’t be too long before E finishes her final few days at primary school and then she’ll be off to secondary school whilst J will be in his final year. I’ll soon be starting my new job and whilst I’m rather nervous about all the changes including the big secondary school transfer, the kids are doing their best to keep me occupied and so long as they are happy then I’m happy.
