Talk about a manic Monday – it’s been non-stop chaos for us all and it’s only going to get busier as the week goes by. Whilst J and I set off super early in order to give ourselves time to amble along the icy and rather dicey roads to a very snowy school, E was busy warming up to wow her audience at the annual school nativity show. Due to work commitments and a family funeral, we were sadly unable to attend her school show but we will be there with bells on later this week to see her strut her stuff on the stage.
After a long and rather stressful day at the grindstone, I returned (via the even icier roads) home just in the nick of time to get E ready for her dance rehearsals. Moments before we were set to leave the house we heard the faint tinkle of jingle bells and a merry ‘Ho Ho Ho’ as Santa went by on his sleigh kindly stopping to visit our rather excited little lady as J’s too old for a man in a suit these days… E couldn’t wait to say “Hello” to the big man and we were sure to take the obligatory festive photos to mark the occasion.
After navigating our way past Santa and his reindeer quad bike we then spent a further two hours at the local theatre switching between chiffon and sequins as E shimmied in and out of various leotards and outfits ready for her dance show rehearsals.
It’s certainly the silly season as I quite literally don’t know whether I’m coming or going, either way, I’m having to chaperone or chauffeur one or the other of the kids to various seasonal events. Here’s hoping that once the shows are all over and school finally comes to a close, we can take some time to relax and enjoy Christmas as a family.
Thank you for reading and as always, I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments on this post.
