It’s been an odd, rather chaotic couple of weeks, what with the weather having shut schools for a few days and then Covid making an unwelcome return to our household. My diary was full to bursting with various appointments and activities for December but almost all of those have had to be either cancelled or rearranged. There’s no wonder the kids are feeling a little unsettled at present, I’m not particularly keen on the ever-changing schedule so goodness knows how they must feel. Talk about ‘living for the moment’ – we are living each day as it comes at present as we’re never quite sure what’s going to happen next!
Thankfully the Christmas holidays are fast approaching and with a little luck, it’ll give us all a chance to refresh and relax for a couple of weeks. Speaking of Christmas, we’ve been busy getting into the festive mood here at home. J spent an hour or so making the perfect pastry from which to bake some mince pies and jam tarts with, which we’ve since guzzled like the little piggies we are.

E meanwhile has been busy practising her marvellous moves for the upcoming dance show, which she is sadly missing her rehearsal for this week due to being isolated. Thankfully, her lovely teacher Danielle sent us a video guide which E has been fanatically following and having received her Aladdin-inspired outfit, E is now ready to rock and roll (or tap and point or whatever it is that they do in ballet and tap…)

I wasn’t expecting to have to ‘homeschool’ either of the kids again this year but I guess “it is what it is” and having spent an hour or so this weekend making various worksheets and activities to follow alongside the guidance sent, I think we’ve got things pretty well planned and prepped for the week ahead at home.
On that note, I’d best go find E’s Christmas jumper and get sellotaping the wrapping paper tubes that I’ve collected together ready for ‘Christmas Craft’ day tomorrow.
Thank you for reading and as always, I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

It sounds like you could really do with the Christmas break! I hope things calm down for you over the next couple of weeks x
