My kids are another kind of awesome, I am so incredibly proud of the pair of them. They seem to be taking centre stage at present and the spotlight has been shining upon them both for many reasons.
Over the past month both J & E have brought home the ‘Lighthouse Award’ (each week a child from each class is chosen to receive this award), J for his efforts during multi-faith week and E for her sheer grit and determination. I was hugely honoured to watch both J & E being called forward to receive their awards, the look on their little faces was a delight to behold.
Lighthouse Winners
To celebrate, we treated J with he brand new book from his favourite series ‘The Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Meltdown’. Being a book-worm, he has almost finished reading this already, although I don’t mind at all as ‘reading is a window to the World’ after all.
E on the other hand decided that she would like to acquire yet more plastic fantastic in the form of further LOL dolls to add to her ever-growing collection. It’s shocking how much one tiny, plastic piece of tat seems to cost these days, but stick it in some kind of lockable, coded box and kids seem to rave about it. I only hope that E grows out of her love for LOL as they are an absolute rip off!
Ballet Beautiful
E has spent the past fortnight or so preparing for her upcoming Christmas Dance Show, a first for E as she only joined the dance group back in the summer. I’ve been enjoying watching her practice during lessons. Our little lady seems to have all the moves, she is certainly coordinated and I cannot wait to see her up on stage.
It wont be long before the kids share the stage for their Christmas concert/ show, yet another event which I look forward to each year and further reason to reach for the tissues. My kids seem to know exactly how to pull at my heart-strings and never fail to bring a proud tear to my eye.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

I’d happily spend a fortune on books but not so much on the plastic tat! I’m very lucky that my two are currently too young to have any awareness of that sort of thing. I’m sure it won’t be long before they’re asking for it, though! #LivingArrows
Well done to both of them – it’s lovely when other people recognise their awesomeness too isn’t it? #LivingArrows
Oh you must be so proud! Athena loves reading too and I completely agree about LOLs! x
