It’s nippy now that it’s November, the heating has been cranked up, the washing line is no longer of use and the hats, scarves and gloves have become an everyday essential.
The children don’t seem to care less whether its hot, cold, wet or dry so long as they are able to get out and about to run amuck in the fresh air. They have limitless amounts of energy and a massive lust for life which is fabulous but they behave much like monkeys on crack which explains the endless tears, rips and scratches I’m forever fixing on their clothing and shoes.
Winter can often result in children behaving like caged animals, stuck within four walls thanks to the dark, wet and wintry weather. Thankfully we’ve been able to get out for some fresh air, allowing our children to run free. Shortly after releasing our rabble into the wild to burn off their endless energy we then filled them with hot chocolates, cakes and treats to return home hours later wondering how the hell they are so full of beans?
I guess you live and you learn but as parents the learning curve only ever seems to get steeper over time!
It was worth every moment of the Saturday sugar rush just to spend time as a family around a table away from our own. Here are a few photos taken whilst we defrosted in the local bistro bar following our stroll along the shore.
