It’s been a busy few weeks, most evenings we have either had after-school activities, clubs, visits or meetings to attend which have eaten into our evenings somewhat.
My calendar is currently chocka-block with yet more dates for the diary and whilst I’m a big lover of being busy, it’s a whole different ball game once the darker nights set in.
Last week saw us visit Js senior school of choice for the evening, this meant leaving E with her Nana and Grandad whilst we drove into the lakes for a look around.
Whilst there, J dove into the deep end and gave almost every activity a go, including piping icing on biscuits, during which he was awesomely artistic!
Although he’s already visited several times already, J really seemed to enjoy visiting the secondary school for another look around. Whether or not he’ll get into where he’s hoping to go is another matter entirely…
Piping Perfection
As I’ve already mentioned in a past blog post, E recently achieved her stage two swimming certificate. This resulted in her lessons being moved to a later time with older, more advanced swimmers in a new class. E had grown comfortable with being one of the strongest swimmers in her previous class, thus being faced with bigger, older and more advanced swimmers was rather daunting.
Despite being the newbie, E gave it her best go and worked hard throughout her first lesson of stage three swimming. So what if she wasn’t as fast or as confident as the other kids?! She’s teeny tiny in comparison and did very well considering!
I’m sure it won’t be too long before our little princess finds her fins and settles into stage three.
Big Fish Little Fish
These wonderful kids of ours have truly shone this year, both J and E have faced and conquered countless challenges, all of which they have taken on with a no-fear attitude, done their very best at and most importantly they have ‘given it a go’.
Here’s hoping E will keep up her ‘can do’ mindset come tomorrow for her first gymnastics session… time will tell!
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

We’ve been looking at secondary schools this week as my eldest is in Year 5 – such a big step for them isn’t it? #LivingArrows
It really is!
I always find evenings at this time of year so so busy. It sounds like J is going to love secondary school! x
I hope so 🙂
It sounds like it’s all go in your house at the moment! I can’t imagine what having secondary school age kids is going to be like – I’m glad we’ve got a good few more years of primary yet! #LivingArrows
It is a weird feeling having an almost teenager
I am the same this time of year I need to slow it down a bit. But it is not looking like its going to go that way. Hope she settles soon and that the gymnastics went well x
