Come tomorrow morning, the kids will be back at school and just like that, the summer is officially over. It has been a fantastic summer, we’ve been here, there and everywhere together and I cannot express how much I have enjoyed spending time with my family.
This was the first summer in six years that I have been able to spend at home with my children and what a difference that made. I was actually able to relax and to make the very best of our time without having to worry about work, child care or any of the other issues that I’ve spent past summers sorting through.
This past week has been a little challenging as I’ve been unable to rally around as I usually do, although I’ve still tried my very best to keep the kids entertained when possible. My kids have been incredibly understanding and that’s made things a whole lot easier although it still doesn’t stop me feeling like I’ve let them down in some way or another.
Funny Faces
Whilst on a shopping spree to town for school uniform, J seemed to pick up on my low mood and decided to make it his mission to make me laugh. Half way through his Happy Meal he discovered these rather groovy glasses, which he then modelled whilst pulling a series of funny faces. J’s slap stick sense of humour had me cackling with laughter in no time – he really is a ray of sunshine!
Hopefully it won’t be long before I’m back to normal and dashing about as per usual, until then I have kicked off my ‘skates’ and have taken a back seat. This is precisely how things panned out on Friday evening whilst at the roller disco, the children didn’t seem to mind at all as J was busy busting his moves on a new scooter which we are in the process of reviewing, meanwhile E had been given J’s previous scooter and was rather wowed by her new wheels.
Wicked Wheels
I swear, my little lady is wicked on a set of a wheels. She has absolutely no fear whatsoever and practically flies around the sports hall, especially so since being given her recent upgrade.
Put together, I sure do have a fine pair of children. They certainly know how to lift my mood, raise my spirits and to make a tough day seem far easier.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.
