According to the news today just so happens to be ‘Blue Monday’ as apparently today is the most depressing day of the year. I have to say that I disagree entirely as today has pretty productive in terms of housework, that and I’ve just finished up an interview with a new supply agency so with a little luck I should be back in the classroom within the next month or two.
The kids however seem to be wired, they came home full of beans and have spent every moment since bouncing from the ceiling. I’m not sure why or how they have so much energy but I’ve spent the past few hours desperately trying to deter them from devastation as sibling rivalry was rife.
Somehow or other they managed to sit together whilst working upon their homework (which was done fairly quickly once the word ‘Ipad’ had been mentioned) before they set about causing riot around the house.
I love my kids dearly and wouldn’t swap them for anything in the World but honest of god I could do with a pause button at times. J seems to have developed into a teenager before his time, his attitude absolutely stinks at present whereas E has become super cuddly and whilst this is adorable, having a four-year old hanging from your leg as you’re trying to pee isn’t entirely practical nor the ‘picture of perfection’ which I once imagined parenting to be.
Either way they eventually seemed to calm themselves for a moment which is when my camera came into action to snap this shot as they sat harmoniously in each others presence and I rather swiftly gulped my coffee before all hell broke loose for the umpteenth time today.
Homework In Harmony
The kids are currently having a late bath following having visitors, Paul’s taken charge and quite frankly I’m relieved as whilst I’ve managed to bite my tongue and withhold my temper until now I’m not sure whether I could deal with tantrums in the tub right at this moment. Give it a moment or two and the kids will be heading to bed where they will hopefully sleep in silence for the night leaving Paul and I to catch our breath and to regain our sanity.
The Silence Of Sleep
On that note I am off to run a bath of my own and to kick back for a few hours before hitting the hay.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

Great news about the supply teaching ! hope it works out for you. Jake had been awfully clingy lately, he wants to be where I am all of the time, whilst it’s nice to be wanted it’s proving a little frustrating. Hope you have a great week x
They’re so lovely when they’re like sleeping angels though! Hope it works out well with the agency.
They look so content doing their homework together! Bless them x
