Is it just me or do any other parents out there feel like the summer holidays somehow seem much like another lockdown? Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying time out from our regular routine but I can’t help but compare all this time we have at home to the time which we spent together during the lockdown.
I guess the weather hasn’t helped all that much as we’ve had nothing but rain and a whole lot of it for the past week thus we’ve spent quite a bit of time indoors during which we’ve enjoyed some relaxation and rainy day activities.
J had his block braces fitted earlier last week and though he felt some discomfort during the first few days, he’s persevered and has impressed us all as he’s become quite adept at putting and taking his new braces in and out of his mouth with ease. I was quite worried that J would be oversensitive and find wearing plates in his mouth rather difficult but other than speaking with a slight lisp he’s continued life as normal.
Grinning & Bearing Up With His New Braces
E meanwhile has been busy keeping her Nana and I entertained as we are forever assisting with various activities such as baking, painting, drawing, playing games, and such-like. She’s much like the Duracell bunny in the fact that she never seems to wind down nor stop. Simply watching E in action is enough to make you feel tired, she’s a buzz bomb full of laughter, smiles and happiness and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Busy Baking
Here’s hoping that summer returns sometime soon and that we can enjoy some time out in the sunshine rather than sheltering from the showers.
Thank you for reading and as always, I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

Your daughter sounds just like mine- always on the go and always shouting someone over to join in!

Indeed constant need for attention
I’m glad the braces are going well, it can be quite a tough time. And yep, it feels like lockdown here, just without the school work! x
