In hindsight, I wish that I’d marked the height of the kids at the start of the lockdown as I swear that they’ve grown like weeds over the past few months!
Although J’s managed to outgrow my shoesize already, when we stand back to back, I’m still ever so slightly taller than him but only by millimetres. How?! How on earth is my eleven-year-old lad almost taller than me, I’m thirty-something years old and still can’t reach the cups on the top shelf but that’s by the by!
My Rather Lanky But Lovely Lad
Like her brother, E, bless her, is also growing at light speed. Though she’s almost seven now, E’s wearing 8-9-year-old girls clothing as 7-8-year-old clothing is simply too short, too tight or too small.
The kids obviously take after their Dad because whilst I’m barely scraping five-foot and struggling to reach anything above the middle shelf, Paul, on the other hand, is 6ft 2 and can reach the ceiling nevermind the top shelf. I’m only jealous and I often wonder what it must be like to be another foot taller…surely it must be like wandering around with your head in the clouds?!
Trying Out The New Trampoline
Bigger kids require bigger equipment, thus we’ve ditched the rusty, old trampoline in favour of a bigger, better boing boing, although I must admit I didn’t realise that 10ft is actually quite large and once Paul had put the framework together, I was a little worried that it might not quite fit into the space where the previous trampoline stood. Thankfully we’ve managed to squeeze it in, but boy oh boy is it big!
Hopefully, the weather might behave over the next couple of weeks so that the kids can enjoy their new trampoline and perhaps even play in the sand which I’ve ordered to fill their pit with – I know they are a little old for sandpits now but at least it’s something other than tech to be playing with during lockdown. Heck, if they don’t play with it – I will! You’re never too old to build a sandcastle, are you?!
Thank you for reading and as always, I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

Wow, they’re both so tall! Athena will always be dinky I think and Troy is a pretty average, slim 7 year old. Yours look so tall in comparison! x
I know – I’m only 5ft and they are both going to tower over me soon.
I wish I had done the same! I am also close to 5ft and Monkey thinks its hilarious that he is not that far behind. Hope they enjoy the trampoline.
They are loving it thanks x
