So the summer holidays have finally arrived but as we’ve been living in lockdown for the past five months, it doesn’t feel any different…
Having spent this afternoon clearing the cupboards, I’ve now organised all the kids’ toys, books, games, and crafting supplies, I’ve also bagged up all of J’s outdated-school-uniform and his wardrobes are now clean and ready for his brand new senior school uniform which should be arriving in the next few weeks.
I plan to do similar in E’s room later this week as I want to sort space ready for her upcoming birthday gifts and at some point, I really ought to go up into the attic and to sort through the piles of keepsakes which I suspect may become bin-fodder as I cannot cope with hoarding.
Having got the house semi-sorted, E then insisted that I took a break and should paint her nails, paint her face, and give her a glitter tattoo and why not?!
Cat Girl
J seems to be spending most of his time bouncing around on the trampoline – I’d love to send him out on his bike but I’m just so worried about his safety given that we are still in the midst of a pandemic.
Our Bouncing Boy
Thankfully we are managing to keep the kids entertained for the time being but I’d love to take them for a day out, it’s just how and where? I’ve seen so many pictures of people taking their kids for days out to local attractions and theme parks and I feel somewhat guilty for not doing likewise but… surely it’s too early yet?
Thank you for reading and as always, I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

It’s so hard to know what;s ok to do and what’s not at the moment, especially like you say when so many others seem so chilled about it all. #livingarrows
I feel safer just staying indoors which is so sad
It’s difficult to know what the right thing to do is. We’ve had some days out but we’ve ensured we’re well prepared with hand sanitiser, our own food and utensils etc. and we’ve been to places at off-peak times to avoid crowds. We’ve found that places have adapted very well to ensure safety but it is still a very anxious time.

It is difficult to work out what to do x
The only difference for us is the lack of school work now – it’s such a welcome break! I have a list of things to tidy/sort and I’m working through it bit by bit over the summer x
I too am working bit by bit – wardrobe by wardrobe

We have been to National Trust and a zoo but thats it so far. I can not see us going to a theme park this year if I am honest. I really need to go through the school uniforms.
A zoo might be an idea !
