One thing my children have always loved to do from an early age is to dress up, over the years they have collected an impressive stash of costumes, all of which are stored in a large, easy-to-access toy box. The kids are forever parading around as Pirates, Princesses and such-like.
They love to roleplay whilst wearing their costumes, it’s quite amusing to sit and to listen to the things that they say, the way in which they adjust their voice and take on accents, they have such fun together!
Having watched each and every one of the ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ films over the space of a week, E decided to dress up as a miniature Elizabeth Swan – she then found her very own sword and gave her brother what for until he gave in and played along.

Josh recently took part in a Viking day at school; each of the children were asked to dress up and to create their very own Viking ships, coins, and hats for the day. I have to say J looked super cool in his costume, which I am sure will be used time and time again at home.

I only hope that the kids continue with their love for dressing up, roleplay is such an imaginative and useful tool in terms of learning.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with yourΒ #LivingArrowsΒ either through your own posts or comments upon this post.
