So the kids and I went back to School today, it was great to get back although I’m not sure the kids entirely agree. They obviously enjoyed their Easter holidays which is good as I was a little concerned that they’d be fed up with being stuck at home, thankfully it won’t be long now before Maisy has her second injections and we are able to get out and about as a family with the pup in tow.
Her Little Pony
There were a couple of days over the holidays when J popped out to play with friends, during that time Paul and I entertained E by offering her ‘Princess Days’.
It feels like forever since it was just E and I spending time together, just us girls. E rather enjoyed having us adults to herself and we spent the time face painting, crafting, baking, making, watching movies, playing games and almost anything and everything which E requested.
‘Princess Days’ have made J’s outings a little less awkward for his little sister to stomach. Beforehand E would whinge and whine that she too wanted to go along to whichever friends house or party J might be attending, she didn’t understand that his eight or nine-year old friends wouldn’t appreciate his four-year old sister tagging along.
E now looks forward to her time without J as she now knows that she too will have fun being pampered like a Princess and that’s precisely what she is – my little Princess!
His Little Puppy
J wasn’t really all that fussed about going anywhere over the holidays, he was far too busy spending time with the puppy, either that or rearranging his piles of Pokemon cards.
Already J has built a brilliant bond with the pup, he isn’t bothered by her teeth nor the fact that she has ‘accidents’ from time to time. He has taken responsibility by assisting Maisy in her toilet training and general behaviour management and he takes pride in his pup. J seems to have matured somewhat over this past fortnight and I’m almost convinced it’s due to adding a further four paws to our family.
Both J & E are growing up so flipping fast! As of today, they have reached their final term of this academic year and within a few weeks J will be turning nine years old; his final year of being in single digits!
It’s terrifying how quick time passes us by, I feel as if it was barely yesterday since I was collecting E from Nursery and we were spending our afternoons just us gals, time certainly flies when you’re having fun!
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.
