Following what was an incredibly busy week for us all, we spent the weekend relaxing and enjoying time together as a family in our gorgeous garden. We are so lucky to have this space, especially so over the past year as the kids have been able to get out and enjoy the sunshine in a spacious, safe space.
Soaking in the Spa
Having taken the plunge and emptied, cleaned, and refilled our hot tub for the very first time, E was desperate to be the first to take a dip in the tub and the weather couldn’t have been better. We were blessed with a weekend filled with glorious sunshine and brilliant blue skies – I only wish the weather could remain as so but sadly that’s not the case.
Swings & Smiles
Paul finally steaked the swing into place a little firmer to stop the rocking which the kids kept complaining about. Following a few tweaks here and there, the kids are now able to enjoy their swing without the worry of the framework moving alongside them. J is so tall these days – he towers above me (though that isn’t entirely difficult given that I’m only 5ft) and it seems we are forever buying him longer pants, bigger shirts, bigger shoes, and this weekend we had to adjust the swing AGAIN to accommodate his height.
It was a wonderful weekend as we were able to spend and enjoy the majority of our time outside, I do so love that the kids have such a great space in which to play and to relax in the fresh air.
I’m well aware that we won’t be going on holiday anytime soon, thus I’m planning to continue sprucing up our garden space with a few decorative items, and Paul’s hoping to add a summerhouse and further decking at the back of the garden which should complete our outdoor retreat. By the time the work is complete, I’ll probably be wondering whether we’d even want to leave our house for a holiday – where else can the kids have such fun with washing facilities and a fridge full of food at their disposal?! Home is where our holiday will remain for a couple of years I suspect and to be honest, I’m quite comfortable with that concept.
Thank you for reading and as always, I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.
