The weather over the weekend was wild, wet, and windy and with E suffering from a snotty cold, it was just too damp and dank to venture outside. The kids were pretty exhausted following their first week ‘back to school’ and so we’ve spent the weekend relaxing indoors, watching movies, playing board games, baking, and spending time doing activities at the table.

Whilst our kitchen gets on my nerves as it’s so dated and is in dire need of ripping apart, refitting, and redecorating, it seems to be the one place that we spend most of our time together as a family. Whether it’s completing homework, piecing together jigsaws, playing board games, or more obviously, eating meals together as a family, the table seems to be central to our existence.
The kitchen truly is the heart of the home and for that very reason, I cannot wait to redecorate and refit our foul, floral kitchen with something new units and a new look!

Sounds like a fab way to unwind after a tiring week! We spend a lot of time in our kitchen too, which is also in urgent need of a revamp – who thought floral tiles were ever a good idea, ey? Haha
Our kitchen is also the centre of our home and we are updating it slowly although part of me would love to rip it out!

It’s been all about outside today – we’ve spent 90% of the day in the garden
The weather was awful here last weekend too – I’m hoping the nicer weather we’ve had the last few days is here to stay for a while now! I hope the children have another good week back at school too x
Our kitchen table is the heart of our home too- our favourite little ritual when the weather is bad is hot chocolate and board games round the table.
