Half term has finally arrived, we haven’t a great deal planned other than simply to spend time together and enjoy each other’s company.
It’s not often that we can ditch the school run in favour of dossing around but that’s precisely what we plan to do! Even so I can almost guarantee that this week will be busy as always.
Despite it being bitter out we wrapped up warm and headed out for a winter walk to the local nature reserve this afternoon . The kids certainly seemed to enjoy the fresh air, the dog too for that matter.
Having parked the car we very quickly realised that the recent floods may cause some commotion, the kids were fine with their walking boots whereas I on the other hand hadn’t thought ahead and was stupidly wearing my Ugg boots for whatever reason. All hilarity ensued as Paul carted the kids and the dog to the ducks whilst I waited for a piggy back.
It’s been years since Paul has had to lift me and by the time he’d bent down to offer me his shoulders I had fallen apart in tears of laughter and was barely able to compose myself never mind climb up for a lift.
Five minutes later Paul and I were still bent double with laughter as neither of us could stop ourselves from the fits of giggles which seemed to erupt each and every time I attempted to hop on. By this time the kids were also howling with laughter, J had tears in his eyes as he pointed and laughed at the pair of us prancing about like prats to avoid the puddles.
It was just what the Doctor ordered, there’s simply nothing funnier than the joke that continues to tickle you ten hours later!
Having eventually made our away across the puddles Paul and I took the kids right up the lighthouse where J searched for mini beasts as part of his Homework whilst Paul and I continued to wipe random eyes, noses and keep the kids happy whilst out in the cold.

Following our fun out and about we then headed home where we enjoyed hot coffees, cookies and cuddles on the sofa to warm up.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.
