This week we took part in the RSPB birdwatch as part of J & E’s homeschool work. With our binoculars at the ready, we spotted, counted, and listed numerous birds including a buzzard over the space of an hour.

The kids had great fun, as did I as it was a relatively peaceful and enjoyable activity that we were able to carry out together as a family rather than being spread around the house on various devices trying our best to complete an array of tasks.
Thankfully this week seems a little easier so far as the workload seems to have lightened somewhat, here’s hoping it’s much less stressful and far more fun from here on in.

I wish we had taken part in this, sounds like it was a great success. And so nice to do something together. That’s what we are finding everything is so fragmented. Well done on the buzzard.
You did better than us! We get loads of different birds in our garden but all we saw in the hour of the RSPB birdwatch were 2 magpies and a woodpigeon!

I wish we’d known about the bird watch, I’ve seen so many people getting involved. I’ll definitely make a note for next year.
