I’m sick to the back teeth of being cooped up indoors, yet I cannot seem to cope with the cold. Thankfully the sun was shining this afternoon and whilst it was, we made the most of it, by getting out into the garden for some fun on the swings.
Swinging Into Spring
It was so lovely to watch the kids run about, screeching and screaming as they hopped from the swings to the slide, huge smiles plastered across their faces. It’s amazing how much difference just getting outside and escaping from the ‘four wall fortress’ can make to your day, your mind suddenly feels a little lighter and the weight from your shoulders seems to lift for a moment.
I must make an effort to clear the garden, to brush through the grass and to sort our outside area ready for the spring. I cannot cope with the amount of rubbish which seems to have blown into and collected in our back garden, I really need to sweep and to vacuum the lawn (which I’m well aware sounds utterly ridiculous but seems to be the only option with Astroturf).
According to the Met Office we are due a downfall of the white stuff over the next forty-eight hours, thus it seems pointless putting in all the effort of cleaning and sorting only to have it hampered by snow. Whilst I’m not a huge fan of the cold, I’m all for snow – bring on the snowballs, the snowmen (and women should you happen to consider that snow sexism) and the sledges of course, which I hope we will be able to put to some use this year.
The dark nights seem to be easing a little, lighter nights are on the way and I’m looking ahead to a spring time filled with screeches, laughter and those fantastic smiles which I saw earlier today.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

Just as the weather is starting to get warm we get threatened snow. I agree with you though I don’t mind it being cold if we have snow.
Your children look very happy to be outside!
Snow seems to be heavy rain today – boo
They look like they are having fun on the swings. Our friends have artificial grass and they swear by vacuuming it too! #LivingArrows
They look like they really enjoy simple garden fun – who doesn’t love a swing?! x
