Following what has felt like the most stressful fortnight of my life, the Doctor has now confirmed that our little man is finally ready to return to school. I can’t tell you how relieved I am to see him back to himself; hogging the television remote, cracking jokes and creating comics.
His school bag is now packed and we are more than ready to return to ‘the regular routine’. It’s been bizarre going out without him each day, I suppose it’s how it’ll be once he moves up to secondary school but for the time being, I feel far happier having him with me than without.
Continuing Creating Comics
E brought home her first ‘handwriting homework’ today. Whilst it wasn’t easy, once she had been given some dotted guides to follow she was flying through the work.
E is such an arty individual, her work is always neat and well-presented so I’m sure that with time, effort and practice she should soon get the hang of handwriting.
Happy Handwriting
Although the kids each have desks in their rooms, they almost always choose to do their homework at the kitchen table. We have a shelf opposite the table laden with pots of pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, rubbers and stationery-based nick-nacks. We also keep a basket filled with workbooks, revision guides, and all things school-related which tends to help when it comes to doing homework.
I love how the kids sit at the kitchen table together with their books, paper, pads and pens at the ready – it may not be well-decorated, but the kitchen is certainly the hub and the heart of our home.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

They both look so studious here and I’m so pleased your little man could go back to school! x
Yeh heβs 100% better now π
I hope he had a good week back at school. At the boys school they learn cursive writing from the very beginning – I was sceptical at first but it works really well. Toby is in Year 2 and I think his handwriting is better than mine! #LivingArrows
Yeh E is in year two also x
