I mentioned a few weeks back that I may start writing my #LittleLoves posts on a Saturday due to time restraints on a Friday, with that in mind and the fact that I no longer spend my Saturday evening’s busy working behind the bar, I may make this schedule alteration for my weekly #LittleLoves instalment a permanent fixture.
So without boring you any further regarding my scheduling plans, I will get onto the task in hand and list a few of my #LittleLoves from the week gone by.
Although I’ve spent a fair amount of time reading books with the children I haven’t really had much time to read for my personal pleasure, hopefully that will change over time. I have however spent time updating and refreshing my knowledge upon grammar, by burying my nose deep within a range of CGP publications, whilst having my pen at the ready to take notes.
It’s often difficult to decide what to listen to when it comes to Music, the kids are forever bickering over which tracks they wish for Alexa to spout out, meanwhile the husband has particular preferences for tracks which aren’t really appropriate for ‘little lugs’. To bypass the bickering I usually flick to the local radio station which features a range of tracks, that and regular local updates which have proved to be particularly helpful with the recent wintry weather.
I’m not sure whether I was eight or nine years old when ‘The Bay Radio’ first launched, I was certainly of a young age but remember the launch well as it was around the time that I was given a ‘ghetto blaster’ for my bedroom. The Bay Radio has been a staple, sturdy station which I have enjoyed listening to for many years, despite the endless advertisement.
Things are apparently set to change as come Monday ‘The Bay’ will be no longer. Heart Radio has apparently bought out The Bay, whether the resident DJ’s will remain is yet to be seen/ heard but one things for sure, it won’t be the same.
Paul and I kicked back on the couch earlier this week to watch the final episode of this seasons ‘Grand Tour‘. Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed watching Richard Hammond struggle through the dust, mud and floods which feature upon Africa’s version of roads, after a while it became a bit repetitive and in all honesty simply didn’t compare to the Top Gear specials of yesteryear.
Don’t get me wrong, I adore the troublesome trio despite my friends forever telling me how much they hate Clarkson, the three of them work really well together as a team and have yet to fail to make me smile.
I’m never really sure what to write for this section as most of the things which I make tend to repeat themselves on a weekly basis. This week for example I have made yet another batch of Sticky Toffee Pudding which was then devoured by friends, colleagues and of course the kids. Whilst the kids and I enjoy arts and crafts it isn’t often that we get the chance to do much ‘making’ at present.
With it being World Book Day on Thursday the children dressed as characters from their favourite reads. E dressed as a mermaid whilst carrying a copy of Julia Donaldson’s ‘The Singing Mermaid’ whereas J opted to be Ash from Pokemon and took along his copy of the Pokemon Essential Handbook.
I on the other hand opted to remain in my own clothing which has changed somewhat since starting my new role. I no longer live in jeans as whilst denim may be comfortable to wear, it’s hardly professional to parade around in whilst at work. With winter setting it’s claws upon almost the entire country I’ve wrapped up warm, layers seem to be ‘the in thing’ at present and despite wearing almost five layers of clothing earlier this week it was still unbearably cold outside, so much so that I lost all feeling in my fingers and toes!
Having spent almost the entire winter wishing for snow we finally had a flurry on Tuesday evening, this resulted in numerous school closures around the area. Both Paul, the kids and myself found ourselves ‘free for the day’ which we spent sledging, playing in the white stuff and snuggled up together as a family.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
