Friday is finally here which is a relief considering that I’m now juggling two jobs, two children and a million other things all of which seem to have swamped my tiny little mind. Earlier this evening I finally finished my bar shift and headed home where I then collapsed upon the couch in much-need of some time out.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been dressed and ready for bed before nine o’clock but by seven-thirty this evening I was clean, bathed and wrapped up warm in my pyjamas. Having bathed the kids, read them stories and tucked them into their beds for the night I too have retired to my resting place with my Macbook in hand to jot down a couple of blog posts before hitting the hay.
I’ve barely had the time to stop or to sit down, never mind to analyse or to absorb all of the amazing things which have happened over the past seven days. I’m hoping that by listing a few of my #LittleLoves as I do each Friday that I can finally take a moment to reflect upon what I can only describe as one hell of a wicked week.
Read
I’m not sure whether it was meant to be or pure coincidence but whilst cleaning the book shelves I came across a copy of Ruby Wax’s ‘Frazzled’. Frazzled is certainly one word to describe how I’m feeling at present and although I’ve never been a huge fan of Ruby Wax’s comedy nor TV shows I have to say that her books are actually rather riveting.
Frazzled discusses the ideas of modern life, the never-ending pressure which we seem to put ourselves under and the unnecessary stress which we tend to take on without realising. Ruby’s guide to mindfulness is not only insightful but incredibly humorous and honest.
Watched
I’ve never been a huge fan of Seth MacFarlane or his work despite the fact that my husband is a Family Guy fanatic. However, whilst slumped on the sofa earlier this week my husband flicked over to ‘Ted 2‘ and I couldn’t help but to laugh along as the story unfolded. I am yet to watch the original movie and will be sure to do so in the near future.
Heard
I’ve had very little time to sit and listen to Music but Jax Jone’s– ‘Breathe’ somehow snuck into my mixes and seems to have stuck in my head throughout the week.
Made
I’ve done next to nothing in the kitchen this week in terms of making or baking. I have however made plenty of cups of tea and coffee whilst settling into my new role as a Teaching Assistant.
Wore
Last weekend my husband and I joined our friends at the pub to celebrate a sixty-fifth birthday. Whilst there I wore a new dress which I received countless compliments upon. It’s the first time in forever that I’ve actually felt pretty whilst out at the pub despite suffering with clown mouth aka ‘angular cheilitis’.
It was great to get out and to spend some time with our friends, we should really try to do it more often but with having the children we try to keep our party plans to a minimum. Saying that I’m now free on a Saturday night and as the kids are getting older they seem to rather enjoy staying overnight at their Grandparents whilst we take a well-deserved break.
And Lastly
As you may have read in my past posts earlier this week I was offered my dream job which I have since started. I am now working as a Teaching Assistant within the local Primary School as well as a barmaid (for the time being). I may be a rather busy lady at present but give it time and I hope that things should sort and settle in terms of schedules leaving me a little less swamped.
I have been made to feel so welcome by the staff, they are absolutely amazing and quite frankly I couldn’t be happier and am loving life.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

Congratulations on the teaching assistant job Rachel, and sounds like you have had a busy week. I love the Breathe song as my 12 year old seems to be constantly playing it at the moment #littleloves x
