Welcome to this weeks edition of #LittleLoves, a weekly post in which I share a few of the things that have raised a smile or tickled my fancy throughout the week. Good god that sounds wrong but hey ho I’ve had a few to drink and the words are running pretty freely. I’m not sure what is worse drunk texting or drunk blogging? I’ll let you decide…
Read
I spent most of the week carefully studying and rereading my sons residential itinerary and packing list prior to his trip which he arrived back from this afternoon. Other than that I haven’t read a great deal unless you count numerous texts and emails.
Heard
Oh Music…how it speaks to me! How is it that no matter what dilemma you may find yourself facing there seems to be a track or lyrics pre written which perfectly sum up the situation? This week I’ve found myself listening to The Cranberries, their songs take me right back to a time when the World was entirely different, I lived another life and things were oh so different.
Watched
Being a creature of habit I’ve tended to stick to the soaps this week. Home & Away is actually out doing Eastenders in terms of storylines which says it all. Mind you, Home & Away also has Ash & Justin to provide regular eye candy for us ladies so there is simply no comparison if I were to be brutally honest.
Retrieving my brain from the gutter where it currently seems to reside – Paul and I have also started watching the new series of Task Master featuring Noel Fielding who could also be classed as eye candy in a gothic, kooky kind of way which has kept me entertained somewhat whilst providing me with some serious party game ideas. God forbid anyone who dares to join us for a BBQ once the gardens complete, I have some pretty awesome challenges up my sleeve!
Made
I’ve made a real effort this week in terms of dieting. I’ve cut out breakfast, reduced my dinner to either toast or something light then dropped my portion size for evening meals to a quarter of the amount I originally ate. I’ve cut out all snacks, puddings and anything sinful and refused food following 6pm and do you know what? I think it’s blumming working!
Lets hope by August when we fly out to Majorca that I can rock my new purple swimming set without reaching for the sarong! Hell if I continue to drop the weight at my current rate I may well get away with a bikini now there’s wishful thinking as I haven’t worn a bikini since having children!
Wore
My wardrobes had a serious update since I’ve started shedding the pounds and once again this week I’ve found myself fitting into some new clobber which I must admit is a damn good feeling.
I’m sticking to the floaty dresses, snuggly jumpers and leggings but my outfits are slowly becoming a little more fitted to my new figure. I just need some new heels and perhaps a pair of short boots and I’ll be ready to rock!
And Lastly
As I’ve mentioned in past posts and above, our beautiful boy J spent his first night away with his school on a residential trip this week.
I was half expecting to receive that dreaded phone call and spent most of the night frantic with worry but twenty-four hours later he’s home and not only has he proved how grown up he has become but he seems far more confident and content.
The many pictures that I’ve kindly received from the school staff clearly demonstrate that he has built a ‘no fear’ attitude and is willing to give anything a go. He is such an amazing little dude and despite my initial worries he has proved himself to be an independent, strong-willed go getter. I’m so blinking proud of him, he’s truly blown my socks off!
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

Oh wow a school residential, I’m not quite ready for when it’s G’s turn. Well done on the dieting although from everything I’ve learnt about nutrition these last two years I wouldn’t cut out breakfast, but of course do what’s best for you. I love little dresses and ankle boots so I hope you find some you like #littleloves
Thanks Kerri x
Ahhhh, The Cranberries! Linger is one of my all-time faves <3
Dreams is my favourite
Oh, I too have bred those with no fear instincts, it does bring regular sharp intakes of breaths! An yes to the Cranberries, a great place in time. #LittleLoves
Thanks Debbie x
I bet you were so proud of J and his adventurous spirit on his residential. Neither of mine have been on one yet, I think their school does it in year 6. I know they’ll love it but I’ll be a wreck while they’re away! haha! xx
You will survive !!!
What a lovely little catch up on what you’ve been doing. Well done on the weight loss, it feels great to be able to get into new clothes doesn’t it! My daughter is going on her first residential trip this week with school. I’m a bundle of nerves and in complete denial too! I haven’t even started packing yet!
It didn’t take me too long to pack don’t worry xxx
