I’ve never been a big fan of September as a month, it’s just so busy, chaotic, and everything seems to change all at once what with the school year starting and the seasons suddenly changing. However, it’s always worth finding the positives in life and so here are a few of my #LittleLoves from the past month.
Read
Other than textbooks and various planning resources I’ve read next to nothing this month as I just haven’t had the time to do anything other than chase my own tail so it seems. At some point, I must pick up a book and read it for pleasure rather than for work purposes.
Watched
It’s been a great month in terms of television as not just one but three of my favourite programs have made a much welcome return to our screens. Paul and I have enjoyed watching the latest series of Gogglebox although it’s quite sad realising all those that we have lost since the previous series. We’ve also started watching the newest episodes of The Great British Bake Off and we’ve almost finished binge-watching the latest season of Netflix’s ‘Sex Education‘ which was released earlier this month. Alongside the aforementioned, we’ve also watched season two of BBC’s ‘Back To Life‘ which we thoroughly enjoyed and I would very much recommend.
Heard
Having had a fair amount of workmen in and out of the house during our kitchen remodel, I became quite accustomed to hearing Radio X playing alongside drilling, banging, and the general decibels of DIY. I’ve since switched to listening to Radio X myself and often bop along to the indie-style songs whilst working my way through piles of ironing at the end of the week.
Made
Having a brand new kitchen has offered me the incentive to get my ‘bake on’ and though it’s only September, E and I enjoyed baking our very first batch of mince pies and jam tarts earlier this week. I also practiced my ‘housewife skills’ and made our first roast beef dinner in our brand new Range oven which we enjoyed as a family.
Wore
Now that autumn has officially landed I’m tending to wear long sleeves, thicker cardigans and I’ve even treated myself to a brand new pair of fluffy slippers to keep myself warm and cosey throughout the winter. I’m yet to pull the hats and scarves from their storage box but I’m sure that it won’t be long before they make a comeback.
And Lastly
September sure has been a busy month; J and E returned to school and they both seem to have settled well back into the routine, they have also returned to their after-school activities of drum lessons, dance lessons, and such-like. Whilst it feels quite nice to be living ‘normally’, I’m well aware that the pandemic is still present thus I’m still very cautious when out and about, though I am rather relieved for the kid’s sake that they are no longer ‘living in lockdown‘.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this month’s #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
