I’m not sure whether it’s just me but October has felt like a really lengthy month. Saying that we’ve done a fair amount throughout the month and to celebrate the highs (we’ll leave the lows as to be truthful there’s been far too many of those) here are a few of my #LittleLoves from October.
Read
I haven’t read an awful lot this year, I simply haven’t had the time nor the inclination to sit back with a book. This month, however, I came across Sophie Kinsella’s ‘Surprise Me’ and being a chick-lit fan I knew that it would be right up my street.
Despite taking a little time to get into the story, this book eventually captured my interest and kept me up far too late last night as I finished the final chapter of what was a hilarious, heartfelt read.
Watched
I’m forever on the lookout for a good box-set and The Let Down certainly didn’t let me down! Being a parent isn’t easy especially during the early days, The Let Down is an Australian series that offers a realistic, comical view upon parenting which was a refreshing watch.
I much preferred watching this to ‘Workin Moms’ as it felt much less Americanised and a little less fake? Either way, I’d certainly recommend ‘The Let Down’ (which there are currently two seasons to watch on Netflix) should you fancy a funny, fresh outlook upon parenting.
Heard
This month my husband and I seem to have reverted back to listening to the classic ‘choons’ from ‘yesteryear’, including the Prodigy which the kids seem to have taken a liking to. There’s nothing quite like ‘Out of Space’ or ‘Voodo People’ blasting in the background as you put the pedal to the metal.
Made
I’ve baked all sorts of goodies throughout the month, all of which have been consumed within a day or two… Other than baking, I also helped my son and his friends to create this rather cool car as part of their STEM project.
Wore
Shortly after returning home from our holiday in the summer, we were heartbroken to hear the tragic news that our good friend Chris aka Foggy (Foghorn) had passed away whilst on his travels around Africa. To say that the guy was a legend is an understatement; he was the most colourful, crazy, kind-hearted, free-spirited man that I have ever met.
Earlier this month we got to say our goodbyes at what was the funkiest funeral I have ever attended, at which I ditched the bleak, boring black in exchange for a colourful coat – what else could I wear to Foggy’s funeral?
Each and every time that I now wear this, I’ll be sure to remember the legend that was Foggy. He will be forever missed but forever remembered for his amazing outlook upon life.
LOUDER, FASTER, HARDER – BE FOREVER ELEVEN!
And Lastly
After months of waiting, we finally had our bay window and the broken blinds replaced. With the new windows, blinds, and curtains the living room looks quite luxurious!
We have also replaced our incredibly uncomfortable, creaky old mattress with a brand new, 30cm deep Vesgantti dual- memory foam and sprung mattress which arrived earlier this week. Although it’s a little warm to sleep on, I’m far comfier than I have been in the past two years and with a little luck, our sleep should be improved.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this months #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

I still need to watch The Let Down and Workin Moms. I did however watch Motherland, did you? Similar to Workin Moms but the British version I think. Is really good! Would recommend if you haven’t! Sorry to hear about your friend passing. Love a bay window, gives so much extra light and the feeling of extra space. Thanks so much for linking up, hope you have a wonderful month ahead x
I haven’t watched motherland, never even heard of it ! It’s now added to my list x
I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. It sounds like he had a wonderful send-off and that his life was celebrated by all who loved him. I think October has been a tough month for a lot of people. I put Bon Jovi on in my car the other day and my girls are now obsessed!
It was a tough month but he was a legend and I’ll live by his lessons x
