It’s the end of yet another month and therefore time to write my monthly edition of #LittleLoves, a blog linky celebrating the little things in life. November may be shorter in terms of the days but by’eck it ain’t half dragged! Looking on the bright side, here are a few of my #LittleLoves from the past thirty or so days
Read
I’ve not really been in the mood to read of late which is a real shame as I’ve got one hell of a TBR (to be read) list on my Kindle at present. Ana Huang has just released her latest book, The Striker and whilst I’ve purchased, downloaded, and got it all loaded up and ready, I just haven’t found the motivation nor the inclination to sit and read all that much. I did however make a start on reading Colleen Hoover’s ‘Maybe Not’ which is the prequel to ‘Maybe Someday’ which I read last month.
Watched
With Christmas fast approaching, the festive films have started to make a welcome appearance as earlier this week we snuggled on the sofa to watch Klaus. Paul and I have also continued to binge-watch Brassic alongside our regular viewings of Gogglebox, and of course the finale of The Great British Bake Off.
Heard
I’m fairly certain by that this point in the year almost all of us have been listening to various Christmas songs. I for one have been enjoying the odd Christmas song whilst tapping away in the office each day. I have also found myself rather taken with a couple of country-themed songs of late, including Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy).
Made
Other than a batch of sticky toffee pudding, a gingerbread loaf (which J mostly made), and a few cupcakes, I’ve not made all that much this month when it comes to baking. I have however made the families annual Christmas calendars alongside a lot and I mean A LOT of purchases this month in both preparation for Christmas and car maintenance as my beloved Mini needed four new tyres…
My daughter E takes the limelight for the ‘making’ element of this month’s #LittleLoves as she has been constantly crafting throughout November and recently made me this gorgeous Kindle cover ready for Christmas – it’s all hand drawn and I love it!
Wore
Given that we’ve had the first snow of the year and it’s only November, I’ve spent the past month wrapped up warm in jeans, leggings, jumper dresses, cardigans, and many layers to ensure I’ve kept warm and cosy. I haven’t worn anything particularly new unless you count rocking a new, wavy haircut, and styling out some nice new nails. It’s been donkey’s years since I last wore acrylic nails and whilst they are a little trickier to type with, they have been a real ‘pick me up’ and I think I’ll keep up with having them infilled and redone every month or so.
And Lastly
It’s been quite the manic month for us as a family as J has spent the past few weeks sitting his mock GCSE exams. We’ve also ventured out to a couple of colleges to look around during their open evenings and consider next years options for J in terms of his education. E, meanwhile, has been settling into senior school and keeping on top of her homework.
We’ve enjoyed a couple of fireworks displays and we also celebrated Nana Margy’s 106th birthday which is one heck of an achievement! November may have been dark and dismal but it’s certainly kept us on our toes as we’ve been busy getting through work, and examinations, whilst also preparing for the upcoming festivities.
Thanks for reading my #LittleLoves post, I look forward to catching up and reading through your #LittleLoves posts
