Excuse the rather late post, I’ve had an emotionally demanding day followed by a much-needed night out with my bestie thus have been somewhat occupied. However, I am now home, have had a hot bath and am curled up in my pj’s with my Macbook ready to write this months #LittleLoves. So – without further ado, here a few of my highlights from November.
I had seen and added ‘The Little Book of Hygge‘ to my Amazon wishlist many moons ago but wasn’t willing to part for £9.99 for the pleasure. Whilst at work, I had the chance to peruse a ‘Children In Need’ charity book sale and came across what appeared to a brand new copy of the book for only 50p!
I was so pleased to have bagged such a bargain and after arriving home that day popped the book onto my piano ready to read later that evening. I then went to empty and to clean the kid’s lunchboxes when all of a sudden I heard a noise…
Upon investigation, I found that my brand new beloved book had been chewed to shreds by the damned dog. I hadn’t even had the chance to get past the first few pages – typical! Being ever so slightly heartbroken, I decided to pay a few pennies and to order another copy which arrived later that week.
I have since read through this little book and would most definitely recommend it should you fancy living a life of comfort.
I’ve watched a fair few things throughout November, especially so when it comes to streaming shows via Netflix, Amazon or such-like. Having read a recommendation for ‘Motherland’ I finally got around to watching series one, which I quite literally binge-watched over the space of a day. My husband and I then continued by watching the entirety of series two and we loved every moment.
As I’m sure you are aware – Frozen 2 was released earlier last week and of course, our little princess had to see it for herself which meant a trip to the cinema for us all. It wasn’t as good as I hoped for it to be, it’s certainly no Toy Story 2 but our little lady enjoyed it, the soundtrack ain’t half bad either!
Midway through the month my husband and I had the pleasure of an evening in Manchester together, where we watched Freya Ridings play live at the Apollo. What an amazing voice this lady has – she quite literally gave me goosepimples!
I’m not sure whether putting together flatpack furniture counts as ‘making something’ but nevertheless, my husband and I collected and built a high sleeper bed (with a desk and a sofa/ pull out-futon style bed) for our little lady.
It took a fair few hours and some serious hard graft but it was well worth our efforts. The Princess is delighted with her new decor, especially the fact that she now has a desk!
It’s brass monkeys out there, seriously my car was so frozen this morning that I couldn’t open the drivers door! Given that it’s fa-fa-freeeeeeezing it’s all about the winter wear when it comes to my current fashion choices. Nevermind style, I’d much rather be snug and warm – thus it’s chunky cardigans, hats, gloves, and scarves all the way.
November, of course, brought Bonfire Night, which is one of my favourite nights of the year. As always, we visited two firework displays, both of which were a delight. I love watching fireworks, seeing the kids spin their sparklers and spending time with family by the fire.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this months #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
