Friday is once again upon us, the weekend has officially arrived and what a busy weekend it’s going to be with work and a wedding to attend.
I’d love to be out right about now getting wasted at a bar whilst a live band plays and the kids relax at my folks. However, that isn’t the case this weekend as there’s simply too much to do and too little time to get it all done. I’ve never been a fan of Monday’s but this week seems to be the exception as I cannot wait for the weekend to be over.
Anyhow, returning to the reason for this post I will get my backside back into gear and list a few of my #LittleLoves from the past seven days, here goes…
Read
Whilst organising and arranging the bookshelf at work I found myself drawn to a few books which I then pulled out, put aside and took home. I’ve always been a fan of chick-lit but hadn’t come across any of Jill Mansell’s work until earlier this week when I started reading ‘To The Moon And Back’.
From reading the very first page I found myself instantly hooked by the story of Ellie, her tragic loss, her career change, her house move, her newly found friendships and of course her romantic liaisons… I was barely able to put this book down as it transported me into another place, another time, another life and quite frankly I relished reading every page as it was pure, unadulterated escapism which is exactly what I’ve needed from fiction for some time.
I’ll be sure to read a whole lot more of Jill Mansell’s work in the near future as if it’s anywhere near as good as ‘To The Moon And Back’ then it’s bound to be brilliant.
Heard
As you will have no doubt read in my past posts (which there have been many of) I am a total London Grammar freak and whilst I love their slow going, etherial ballads I am rather partial to some of the more upbeat remixes which have been cleverly created and put together.
One of my good friends just so happens to be a pretty good DJ and has recently put together a mix set which he has shared on Soundcloud which features not one but three of these London Grammar remixed tracks and I cannot help but to love his work! ‘Bit Of This Bit Of That’ has been downloaded both onto my IPhone and MacBook as well as being burnt onto a CD to listen to whilst out in the car as you can never have too much London Grammar!
Watched
Before you ask NO I haven’t watched Game of Thrones this week or ever for that matter neither do I ever intend to. I did however enjoy watching a rather cheesy American lifestyle program whilst tidying the living room earlier this week. I hadn’t planned on watching ‘My Dream Home‘ but as it happened to be airing whilst I was busy cleaning I couldn’t help but to watch the property brothers as they worked alongside a range of couples to find, buy and transform extreme fixer-uppers into forever homes.
I love watching DIY shows especially when they show the before and after results demonstrating just how much money can be saved by putting in a little elbow grease and vision into a project.
Made
I haven’t made a great deal this week partly due to the fact that I’ve been so damned busy chauffeuring my little brats beautiful children to and from their endless social gatherings with it having been the end of term.
Paul threw together a few cupcakes for the end of term parties but as I wasn’t actually part of this baking bonanza I cannot really take any credit. I have however put together a few lunches and made a blumming good attempt at clearing some of the crap from the kids rooms whilst they’ve been occupied by their endless social calendars if that counts.
Wore
Thanks to my recent weight loss I seem to have fallen into a fashion ‘fad’ and am currently rocking dungaree dresses like there’s no tomorrow. I’ve managed to acquire three of these dresses over the past month including a rather pretty blue, denim dungaree dress which I have teamed with striped or plain tops for a casual summer look.
I’ve had numerous comments regarding my recent ‘dungaree dress fad’ most of which have been complimentary, others a little on the pervy side and one rather ridiculous suggestion that should I add a yellow top I could be mistaken for a Minion! Either way I adore my dungaree dresses and will no doubt be buying a few more to add to the wardrobe.
And Lastly
As you may well have noticed by now I am on the ball when it comes to organisation especially regarding special occasions. E will turn four-years old next month and having suffered a minor flap over what to purchase for my Princess I have finally selected and ordered numerous presents and two personalised cards all of which are due to arrive shortly.
I have also arranged dates and times for a party which I have designed and printed invites for which I will hand out to family and friends in due course. I can hardly believe that our little lady will be four-years old next month, where the hell has the time got to? At least I’m organised this year and can rest assured that I have her party, presents and cards all ready and sorted to rock and roll.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

I haven’t watched Game of Thrones at all either. I did give the books ago once, but just couldn’t fall into them. Speaking of books, I keep meaning to pick up Jill Mansell.
Although a busy one, I hope the weekend has been enjoyable.
It certainly has x
I love dungarees and dungaree dresses! They are great just to throw on aren’t they? x
