Welcome to the March edition of #LittleLoves, which is part of a series that you are very welcome to join.
Though March hasn’t been the easiest of months, I’ve decided to try and lift the mood a little by documenting some of the lighter moments. Call it ‘pinpointing the positives’ or perhaps ‘therapising through writing’ – it is what it is and I’m hoping that I can one day look back at these posts and smile at the #LittleLoves that I found during the darker times.
Read
I’ve not been reading all that much this month, I haven’t been in the right frame of mind nor mood to soak up a story or flick through fiction. I have however been reading various online self-care guides to give me a little inspiration here and there along the way. Those of you looking to gain inspiration, information, wisdom, and guidance in any aspect of your lives might find TinyBuddha.com useful – I know I sure have.
Watched
Alongside my regular ‘soap-fix’ of Home & Away and Eastenders, I’ve spent this month watching Stacey Solomons latest series of ‘Sort Your Life Out‘ (I wish it was that easy…), BBC’s ‘Gladiators‘, and Channel 4’s ‘Gogglebox‘. Paul, the kids and I also got through the first two series of ‘Our Flag Means Death‘, a BBC series which isn’t entirely appropriate for kids but given the pirate-based content was a must-watch for us all.
Alongside television, I’ve also spent a little time watching videos and live streams from various influencers such as Pebbles and Peach simply to take my mind away from things a bit.
Heard
I’ve not really spent much time listening to music this month. Other than listening to the radio which plays each morning in the car whilst on the school run, I’ve not paid much attention to music of late. It’s not like me at all really, though when we have had music on it seems to be my daughter’s song selection which gets blasted through the house. It’s a good thing that Paul and I are fans of KoRn as otherwise we’d require earplugs and paracetamol.
Made
Other than generally making it to the end of the month – which believe me is an achievement considering – I’ve not made a huge amount. E and I threw together a batch of cheese straws and some chocolate crispy cakes if that counts? J also made a terrific Tiramisu and Paul’s made countless cookies and trays of chocolate brownie to keep us all chipper so I guess it’s a team effort…
Wore
Although I treated myself to a couple of pairs of new jeans, I’ve not really worn anything out of the ordinary. E however dressed herself as the star of the show for this year’s World Book Day as she became ‘Willy Wonka‘. Her outfit was so awesome – she really looked the part!
And Lastly
The past few years have been a really tricky time and though I can’t go into detail on why as this isn’t the place nor the platform for it, I would like to thank you all for your kind words and support. Speaking of support, Paul and the kids really knocked it out of the park for Mother’s Day this year as they spoilt me with the most beautiful gifts. I may have cried like a baby when I first opened said gifts but this plaque has now been placed firmly in pride of place in our living room and makes me smile each and everytime I clap eyes on it.
Thanks for reading my #LittleLoves post, I look forward to catching up and reading through your #LittleLoves posts
