Welcome to this month’s #LittleLoves post, which is part of a series that you are very welcome to join.
June seems to have flown by in the blink of an eye and here we are whizzing into July at light speed. It’s been a hectic month filled with an array of appointments and activities – keeping on top of my diary has been much like juggling sand so without further ado here are a few of my #LittleLoves from the past month.
Read
In order to keep myself from mischief and to keep my mind occupied I’ve spent the past month with my nose firmly wedged in various books including Ana Huangs Twisted Love, Twisted Games, Twited Hate, Twisted Lies, and King of Wrath. Prior to those, I read Sophie Ranolds ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ but didn’t find it quite as gripping as Ana Huang’s Twisted and King series (which I’m now working my way through).
Watched
Given that I’ve spent the majority of my time reading I’ve not watched a huge amount of television other than my daily catch-up with the soaps (Eastenders and Home & Away). Paul and I keep meaning to find a decent series on Netflix but we’ve either exhausted the streaming service of everything half decent or we’re just too picky whilst surfing scrolling thus end most evenings with yet another episode of QI. I’m beginning to wonder whether it’s even worth us paying for the likes of Prime, Netflix, and Disney + as nothing seems to grab our attention!
Heard
Thanks to the joys of TikTok I’ve found myself listening to Hozier‘s ‘Too Sweet’ on repeat for the last few weeks. It’s such a catchy little tune although I’ll no doubt be tuning into Glastonbury footage this weekend and will find even more Music that manoeuvers itself into my audio loop system.
Made
Though I dream of having a slimmer waistline and desperately need to lose a few stones in weight at some point, this doesn’t seem to deter me from continuing to bake goodies for the kitchen. I’ve busied myself making the likes of Cheese Straws, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Ginger Bread, Cakes, and Cookies. I even attempted a new recipe this month – Australian Crunchie which was slightly darker than I’d anticipated but went down like a treat.
Wore
With temperatures rising about twenty (degrees Celsius), I’ve finally dusted off my denim shorts and have shown a little leg this past month. Sadly the sunshine seemed to shy away somewhat and I’ve since reverted back to my comfortable leggings and swing tops paired with my Crocs and obligatory sunglasses which double as an Alice band. E meanwhile has been all about the shoes this month and given that we now have the same size feet I’ve enjoyed trying on her various goth boots whilst wishing I was twenty years younger.
I have however replaced my rather worn Skechers with a fresh pair of Skecher D’Lites and upgraded my Mary Janes to a newer, shinier pair of Lamoda heels – whether I’ll be able to walk in them is questionable…
And Lastly
As I said above, June has been one heck of a hectic month in terms of organising each of us. E was off on a trip to London during the first week of the month and as expected, had the time of her life. J was busy learning the ropes in the local gift shop as part of his work experience. The kids have since had Sports Days, Discos, music lessons, and various other events all of which have filled my diary to the point of busting but it’s been a joy to see them both thriving and enjoying life (as they should!).
Thanks for reading my #LittleLoves post, I look forward to catching up and reading through your #LittleLoves posts

I thought I commented on this – anyway, love the rainbow boots! I’m not a huge Hozier fan but he keeps doing songs with people I like so I listen to a lot of him (so I guess I am actually a fan but I just didn’t go and see him)
