Summer sure is flying by, we are now over halfway through the year and whilst I’m loving the summer holidays, I sure wish time would slow down a little. To celebrate July, here are a few of my #LittleLoves from the month…
Read
In a bid to get back into reading, I spent some pennies on good old amazon, though my kindle has long been replaced by my iPhone as it’s just easier. In the past I was a bit of a Sophie Kinsella fan, I read her books cover to cover within hours of getting them and couldn’t get enough! Since then I’ve had children and don’t have quite as much time for the likes of reading… Years have flown by during which she’s released a whole range of new reads, most of which are now in my kindle/ amazon library at the ready for me to read. I recently devoured Sophie’s ‘I Owe You One’ within the space of a day – it was an easy and enjoyable read.
Watched
The hubby and I are crazy for comedy – we’ve seen numerous stand up comedians live over the years. I follow quite a few on Facebook, including Gary Meikle – a relatively new comic who went viral following his video sharing his rant upon eyebrows, if you haven’t seen his eyebrows rant it’s a must-watch, as is his live show which we went to see earlier this month in Carlisle. We were super lucky as we also got to meet the man himself and despite this being a god awful picture of myself, it’s a happy memory.
Heard
I’m a massive festival fan and Glastonbury is at the top of my ‘before I’m forty bucket list’. Being a ‘Glasto Girl’, I watch the festival in full each year, not only are the well-known, big acts up on the various stages but there’s also the chance to watch newer, less-well-known musicians such as Yebba who played live alongside Mark Ronson. I have since continued to listen to Yebbas work throughout this month, her voice is simply beautiful.
Made
As part of his school project upon Vikings, J was asked to design and to create his very own Viking ship. With the help of his Dad and a tonne of PVA glue, J made this stunning ship which was put to the buoyancy test in our paddling pool and passed with flying colours!
Wore
Having worn my previous Skechers trainers quite literally till their demise, I was forced to find a new pair and whilst they don’t come cheap, these Skechers D’Lites were worth every penny in terms of comfort. My feet have never felt so comfortable, it’s like walking on clouds!
And Lastly
Having saved his birthday and Christmas pennies, J finally found something which he felt the need to spend his pennies upon – his very own console! J is incredibly proud of his recent purchase – a Nintendo Switch, which he has since cradled in his hands like gold dust with the biggest smile on his face. It certainly seems that this purchase was worthwhile, it should at least keep him entertained over the summer!
I love the fact that J saved his own pennies for this, I love the fact that he chose his console carefully even opting to save money with a ‘nearly new option’ and I am so impressed with his maturity and consideration for others in offering to play with his sister and ourselves, he is such a sharing, caring little man.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this months #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
