Welcome to this weeks edition of #LittleLoves, December has finally arrived and there is so much to do and of course, so much to love! Here’s are a few of the things that I have particularly loved this week.
Read
I am a great lover of reading, I first began teaching J how to read back when he was almost three-years old. Over the years J has become a really good reader but I have had some recent concerns regarding his lack of enthusiasm for reading.
Personally I think J is a little lazy when it comes to reading books and as I like to keep him challenged I have asked for his school to provide us with some higher-level reading books which may stretch J a little further in terms of his reading ability.
I was really impressed with J’s reading this week, he put in the extra effort and made great progress in his reading ability. We really enjoyed reading together, J was spurred on by the idea of reading at a higher-level and I was taken aback by his sudden found ability to add expression and different voices for each character.
J really seemed to enjoy reading ‘The Blue Eye’, one of the many Oxford Tree Reading Scheme books. He loved the narrative and put so much effort into his reading that I dug out the larger stickers to put into his reading record!
Watched
As it’s December the Christmas films have been making an appearance. The kids and I sat and watched The Snowman & The Snowdog earlier this week, the soundtrack alone gives me a lump in my throat never mind the storyline. Thirty minutes later I was sat with handfuls of tissues whilst the kids looked on with concern, they simply couldn’t understand why I would cry at a cartoon!
Heard
Following watching Emily’s cover of ‘Human’ on the X Factor this week I found myself rather intrigued to hear what the original might be like. I didn’t need to  investigate this matter any further as I found that the single was soon played regularly on the radio. It was an instant hit, I purchased the single on ITunes earlier today so that I can play ‘Rag’N’Bone Mans’- Human’ as many times as I so wish until it wears thin which I imagine may not be long.
Made
Every month or so I host the a ‘Mother’s Meeting’ with some good friends,  it gives us all the chance to let off some steam, have a giggle and indulge in coffee, tea and some sweet treats. E and I spent some time making ‘Christmas pudding chocolate cakes’ and my all time favourite, flapjack both of which were delicious!
Wore
After months of deliberating whether I should or shouldn’t dye my hair I finally took the plunge and had some highlights put through my hair. I am not sure whether it’s really as noticeable as I would have liked but it’s a subtle change which has given me the feel good factor.
And Lastly
We finally received the furniture for our new bedroom, we are yet to put it all together by which I mean Paul is yet to find the time to get his tools out. I am hoping to be in our new room by this time next week all being well. I cannot believe that we are so close to moving into our extension and making use of the extra space, life feels pretty good!
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing your #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

Yummy looking bakes. All the best with getting on your new furniture in place for your extension and indeed moving into it. So lovely when life feels good, isn’t it. Keep enjoying.
Thanks my love x
I have written on encouraging your child to read, among other topics
Oh how exciting moving into your extension for the holidays too. I love new parts of the house. Can’t wait to see the finished decor. 🙂 Looks like you are all getting festive in the kitchen baking too. Love it. Hope you are having a lovely weekend. #littleloves
My husband did exactly the same and downloaded Human after he heard it on the XFactor. I think he has listened to it about 100 times this week. I bet you cannot wait to get all the furniture into your new room, how exciting. I love your little cakes. Have a good week #littleloves x
Thanks Tracey x
I love that song too! I heard it on the radio early last week and instantly fell in love with it.
Oh Snowman and the Snowdog is just so cute isn’t it. We watched the Snowman and I had to stop myself from blubbing at the end by walking off into the kitchen! I do love this time of year for festive family films though.
Have a great week xx
Thanks my love x
