We have almost come to the end of the holidays which the kids and I have really enjoyed. It’s get to a point though when you’re ready to get back into a routine and get back to it. I’ve already put together a few plans for the week ahead, this includes both work and relaxation as I am in much need of a girly get together with my bestie Dee, as neither she nor I have had the time to sit and have a brew and the banter.
Parenting is a funny old game as holidays are in no way, shape or form any kind of break should you happen to be a Mother or a Father for that matter. If not making breakfast, lunch, tea, supper or snacks for your little ankle biters then you’re running around keeping them safely entertained whilst refereeing upon whatever they may have found to argue over. This week particularly seems to have been endless, what with two kids, two dogs and a house to keep tidy, it’s hardly been any kind of a holiday!
Despite living within a never-ending tirade of tantrums, tasks and trouble I have managed to take a few moments throughout the week to make the most of my down time, I will now endeavour to elaborate upon those through this weeks instalment of #LittleLoves.
Read
I actually managed to pick up a book this week, although after a few pages I found it to be pretty pants, actually it was precisely that as all it seemed to go on about was pants – magic pants or something of the sort. Having bored myself stupid within less than a chapter I decided to down tools and flick through something of more interest – my Facebook feed. See?! It was that boring I opted to switch to social media rather than force myself to read such rot.
Nevertheless, it was great to have the chance to pick up a book, though next time I will be sure to select something with a little more grab and grit.
Heard
With having the kids at home for the holidays, I’ve been subjected to listening to the likes of Aqua’s ‘Barbie Girl’, ‘Dr Jones’ and worse still, The Cartoons – ‘Witch Doctor’. As you can imagine my ears have taken a bashing, up until now I never knew that Music could be a form of torture! Thankfully I’ve found a few of my own ‘golden oldies’ to rebel against the ragtime rubbish which the kids seem to enjoy.
Watched
Having signed up with Netflix for a ‘free month’, I’ve since been a mission to get through the entirety of ‘Orange Is The New Black‘ and am currently half way through watching season two.
Other than this and the odd episode of Eastenders, I can’t say that I’ve watched an awful lot of television this week. I haven’t had the time nor the inclination to be honest.
Made
Other than breakfasts, lunches and dinners for both the kids and the dogs I haven’t made an awful lot this week. I threw together a batch of flap jack earlier today but otherwise the only thing I can really lay claim to making is a rather short and sweet mix whilst dabbling with my decks.
It may only be twenty minutes in length but that’s precisely the length of time which I had to myself!
Wore
The sun has had his hat on, as have I for that matter! With Spring finally offering a little sunshine, I decided to make the most of the good weather by wanging out the winter hats, scarves, gloves etc in exchange for our summer hats, shades and such-like.
The winter jackets have also been replaced with thinner jackets, including this rather cute, denim jacket which I picked up for a steal online.
And Lastly
Maisy, our beautiful basset pup has been with us for almost a fortnight now. We’ve finally got into the swing of her routine and whilst there’s still room for improvement in terms of toilet training she seems to have made herself right at home.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
