Christmas is always crazy in this house, it’s a manic month filled with none-stop preparation for the big day. Once Christmas is done and dusted we are finally able to relax in a seasonal slump, which is usually when the days begin to merge into one and other and I lose track of the time, day, date and year…
So before I delve into yet another tub of Treeselets whilst watching the television, here are a few of my #LitteLoves from the past month.
Read
Earlier this month I put together a box of Christmas books which has since taken pride of place in my daughter’s bedroom. The kids and I have rather enjoyed reading through a selection of festive fiction in the run up to Christmas. I personally rather enjoyed Rachel Bright’s ‘All I Want For Christmas‘ which I much recommend should you happen to be on the lookout for a festive, family book.
Watched
With it being Christmas, there has been a number of seasonal specials to watch on the television including the latest installment of Gavin and Stacey, which we watched earlier this week and I much recommend to any old-time fans. Without giving away any spoilers, let’s just say that there’s plenty occurring!
Heard
Having being gifted a brand new Amazon Echo for the kitchen from my husband this Christmas, we now have Music in every room of the house and I’ve made the most of this by putting together a brand new ‘chick-tunes’ playlist which includes the likes of Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette, Kate Bush, Ani Difranco, Bjork, Skunk Anansie, Garbage, KT Tunstall, Joni Mitchell, Blondie, No Doubt, Suzanne Vega, Paula Cole, London Grammar, Freya Ridings and many more.
If you fancy having a listen and happen to have an Amazon account click here for the link.
Made
As is tradition, I made the annual ‘squidgy chocolate log’ following Delia’s instructions. It looked and tasted delicious but didn’t last too long! I’ve also made countless mince pies, sausage rolls, pigs in blankets and the usual festive food for buffets and such like.
Wore
Having being spoilt rotten by the husband this Christmas, I am now the proud owner of a brand new pair of ‘Bedroom Athletics Slippers’. I’ve worn Bedroom Athletics boots for years now and still swear that there simply are no comfier slippers than these.
And Lastly
It’s been a busy but cracking Christmas! The kids were spoilt rotten by family, friends and of course Santa, they had the best day and were given everything that they wished for and more. Watching their little faces as they opened their parcels on Christmas morning was simply magic, it made all the expense and effort well worthwhile.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this month’s #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

Sounds like a wonderful month. I am always so tempted to make a chocolate swiss log, but I always fear I will mess it up when it comes to rolling it. Sounds and looks like Christmas was wonderful for you. I hate the aftermath of it all! Thank you so so much for linking up each month. I am looking forward to us sharing more Little Loves throughout 2020!
Thanks for hosting Anna – I adore #LittleLoves and look forward to participating in further posts throughout 2020!
Looks like you’ve had a wonderful Christmas. That chocolate log looks amazing
Thanks it was rather good 🙂
It sounds like you had a lovely Christmas. Wasn’t the Gavin and Stacey special brilliant? Such a cliffhanger at the end! Hope January has got off to a good start for you.
