Seriously has it been a week already? Friday has certainly flown in this week that’s for sure! What have I been doing for the past seven days? Well mostly running around like a blue backsided fly trying to warp the speed of time to fit in a few extra chores here and there.
It’s been an endless catch up game since recovering from my recent sickness and sadly its left very little time for pleasure. I will of course reach for the positives and try to fish out some #LittleLoves from the swamp of self-pity.
Read
I myself haven’t read an awful lot myself this week but I have enjoyed reading with the kids, particularly David Walliams ‘The World’s Worst Children’.
Whilst I may have first thought that David Walliams was a Roald Dahl rip off I now realise that he is actually a pretty talented author with some fantastic ideas for fiction.
Both J & E are totally transfixed by his short, funny stories which provide the perfect mini-skirt solution for reading to the kids (long enough to cover the essentials whilst being short enough to keep them interested).
Watched
Paul and I have been re-watching episodes of Peter Kay’s ‘Car Share’ in preparation for the second series airing later this year.
In all honesty I had completely forgotten most of the storylines and watching the episodes for the second time round makes me laugh just as much as when we first saw them. It doesn’t matter how times I watch the ‘Dogging’ episode, it still has me in stitches!
Heard
I was and am still a massive fan of the late Victoria Wood. I was recently discussing my favourite comedy acts with a close friend and following our conversation felt the sudden urge to re watch and listen to some of Victoria’s best bits including this little number…
Made
I’ve somehow found myself falling into a bit of a routine these days when it comes to dinner times (for those of you that don’t live up North we have breakfast, dinner and tea just to clarify). I’m finally meal planning and making more than just soup or a sandwich.
I’ve mixed it up a bit this week and we’ve had Quiche, roast beef, salads, baked potatoes and all sorts of different meals which I feel has made a massive difference to us all.
Wore
The sun finally made a visit and the temperature has finally risen. For once I have been able to ditch my duvet style jacket and head out with just a cardigan for warmth. That sounds wrong I realise, trust me I obviously don’t rock up to the school run wearing nothing but a wrap around cardy, could you image? people would run screaming!
Spring is in the air and it has been really nice though to ditch ‘the duvet’ and feel the warmth of the sunshine on my face. Saying that it was pouring it down today and I had to return to the rather worn out duvet, puffer jacket. Give it a few weeks and I am hoping that I can swap the heavy duty, winter jackets by the front door for light weight cardigans and pop the Ugg boots back into the wardrobe ready for Winter.
And Lastly
I feel as if everything around me is changing. People are moving on, moving house, moving schools, moving away or simply moving onto their next steps. Meanwhile I remain clueless as to ‘what’s next’ for me… Don’t get me wrong I am so pleased that everyone else seems to have it ‘all sorted’ but I just wish I could snap my fingers and get some answers as to what I, myself should do next.
I am so relieved that I am finally feeling better, the antibiotics seem to have given me a new lease of life. I feel more energised and ready but for what I’m not entirely sure…
I’ve at least used what currently feels like some sort of transition period to apply to some jobs, none of which I expect to get but I can only try right? I guess that’s as good as it gets for my ‘and lastly’ section I’m afraid!
Well, that’s it folks! Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

I just love Peter Kaye, his car share was so funny, I used to like David Williams too, until my son entered Britain’s got talent, and told me how false he is and that he was actually rude to autograph hunters ( I don’t suppose he will read this, so should be alright!)
Oh really how disappointing
Rachel I bloody love your way with words, that mini-skirt analogy will keep me going for weeks ! I’m so glad to hear you are feeling better. I live in a constant state of never knowing what’s next, at least life’s not boring I suppose x
Lol thanks ang x
So glad to hear that you are starting to feel better. I love the cardigan, i have also been able to ditch my winter coat this week. I now just hope that it lasts.
Thanks xxx
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I feel a bit like this everyone seems to be moving away or changing their lives big time around us too its’ a weird feeling as I work from home and then do stuff for the kids taxi them here there and everywhere and it’s a routine I am grateful for but feels like I need the next step too. I can relate. Sounds like you have had a lovely week. #littleloves
I think once I find a new job and find a new direction things will be better.
So pleased that you’re feeling better, it really takes a while to get back on track after doesn’t it? I played catch up for a week after our bug. Boo.
I love Victoria Wood, and watched her on tv a lot as a kid. My mum and auntie were huge fans and often quoted from her sketches to each other whenever they’d meet up x
