Yet again I’m lacking with the blog posts this week, apologies and all that but I can assure you that there is good reason for my absence! I’ve spent the past week focused entirely upon a job interview which meant the World to me and more. Along with work, the household chores, looking after the kids and everything else this left me with next to no time for blogging, thankfully it’s all over now and I am finally able to relax and to proudly announce that I GOT THE JOB!
So to save myself from waffling any further I’ll get to the point of my post and list this weeks #LittleLoves.

Having had a rather successful interview I have since been bombarded with messages from family, friends, colleagues and customers all congratulating me upon my good news. It’s been a wonderful week and I feel honoured to have such wonderful people wishing me well, it truly means the World to me.
Heard
After being inspired by an old friend, I have spent the past week taking part within an ‘Albums I Love’ challenge upon Facebook. This has pushed me to think about the Music which I’ve listened to regularly throughout my life and continue to enjoy. Having listed my top ten albums I was reminded of a few tracks from the past which I then instructed Alexa to indulge me with, including this rather fantastic track from Suzanne Vega – When Blood Makes Noise.
It’s been a while since the kids and I have sat and watched a movie together, this afternoon however we found the opportunity to do so. After spending the past month or two listening to J read ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid‘, I thought it’d be nice to show him the movie. It’s the first time that J’s actually read a book before watching the film and I think he rather enjoyed knowing what was going to happen and watching text transformed into a motion picture.
Made
Other than making myself sick with nerves earlier this week, I’ve made nor baked barely anything, unless you happen to count a batch of home made play dough, which I threw together for the kids earlier this evening.
My husband on the other hand has put me to shame as he’s been a bit of a kitchen whizz throughout the week. He’s put together packed lunches for the kids and I, baked biscuits with E for her School party and very kindly baked this rather fabulous chocolate cake for me to take along to work to share with the staff team to celebrate my recent success.
Wore
I spent a few hours online earlier last week looking at new boots which I planned to wear for my interview. Typically both sets of boots arrived just hours after my interview! I have however worn three new pairs of boots this week including those which arrived a little too late… Along with the interview boots I also ordered myself a pair of rather snazzy new rollerblades which I put to use on Friday night as we took the kids along to a roller disco.
It’s probably been twenty years or more since I last wore blades: having tied my laces and clipped up my boots, I carefully stood up and made my first circuit around the sports hall, I was half expecting to fall flat on my face or quite possibly break a few bones, neither of which happened.
Much like riding a bike, blading came back to me in an instant. Within minutes I had picked up speed and was blading with balance and control. I seemed to remember everything as if it was yesterday all apart from how to stop, this wasn’t an issue until a child scooted across my path leaving me with no other option than to throw myself towards a wall. Thankfully I remained upstanding and no children nor adults were hurt.
It was an absolute blast blading again and I’m already looking forward to a fortnights time when we can head back to the hall and get back on the wheels.
And Lastly
As you may have already gathered I’ve spent the majority of the weekend with a rather large smile plastered upon my face, after being informed that I was successful within my recent interview. Come tomorrow I will be working my last shift behind the bar, I have mixed feelings upon this as I’ve worked ‘on and off’ within the pub for over twenty-one years and it’s been a massive part of my life.
I’ll still be sure to pop in as a customer from time to time, but as far as I’m concerned my days of pulling pints are well and truly over.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
