I would have written this post earlier today but after stupidly attempting to open a bottle using a pair of kitchen scissors, I’ve spent the majority of my evening sat in A&E having my thumb cleaned, stuck back together and dressed.
I wouldn’t mind but we’d literally just walked back into house following the fifty minute drive back from town, then moments later had to head straight back towards Barrow, leaving the kids with their Grandparents which wasn’t exactly the Saturday night that I had planned.
I was hoping to carry on as usual but following stern advice to keep the wound clean, dry and sterile I’ve opted to play it safe and to stay at home tomorrow rather than pulling pints as was scheduled. I hate letting people down, it’s totally against the grain for me but I guess accidents happen far too often in my case as I’m a total clutz.
Moving on and back to the original point of this post, which should hopefully be a little more positive than my problem at present, here are my #LittleLoves from the past seven days.
Read
With working six out of seven days I have rather limited time at present. Despite being desperate to get my head back into the books, I simply haven’t had the chance to do so as of yet. For that reason I’ve started looking into magazine subscriptions for shorter reading options.
Watched
Both Paul and I are fans of ‘Benidorm’, both the resort where we enjoyed a week abroad two years back and the television show which has once again returned to our screens for a tenth series. Thanks to ‘catch up television’ which quite frankly I couldn’t cope without, Paul and I have caught up on the latest episodes which may well be cheesy and ever so slightly ridiculous at points but nevertheless are a laugh to watch.
Heard
I haven’t had an awful lot of time to listen to Music, I did however throw a few tunes together earlier in the week which were mostly dance or trance based.
Made
To celebrate the launch of my sister-in-laws Tropic business, my friends and I arranged a small shindig which I put together a simple buffet for consisting mostly of ‘shop bought snacks’. I would have ideally liked to have had the time to bake biscuits, cakes and goodies for the guests but given that I’m a little strap for time at present I kept things simple and easy.
Wore
With the weather being a little on the chilly side I’ve tended to stick to cosy, comfy and casual clothing such as cardigans, my H&M bargain buy, glittery cardigan being a current favourite.
And Lastly
I’ve never really been one to throw ‘brand parties’ by which I am referring to the likes of Body Shop, Tupperware, Ann Summers and other well-known party planning companies. On Friday though I hosted my first ever Tropic Party which seemed to be a huge success.
Paul and I don’t tend to have many parties, certainly not house parties anyhow. Over the past few weeks however this has changed and as a result I feel as if our social life has soared. I’m rather enjoying having friends over for drinks, it’s far better than spending our pennies in the pub, not only that but it’s far more comfortable and casual which suits us down to the ground.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
