Welcome to my first #LittleLoves post for 2017, it’s been an eventful week filled with lots to love so here goes…
Read
I began reading , ‘Bridget Jones Baby The Diaries‘, one of my many Christmas gifts from Paul. I have already read the previous three Bridget Jones novels from Helen Fielding all of which I greatly enjoyed.
I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from her latest release considering how far afield the film seemed to be from her previous book ‘Mad About The Boy‘. Firstly, Mark Darcy is back from the dead so it seems considering the storyline from ‘Mad About The Boy’ and he’s out to win Bridget all over again. Secondly, Bridget is now broody and as you can guess from the title she does indeed end up ‘with baby’.
In a nutshell, this book covers the storyline from the recent film ‘Bridget Jones Baby‘ with a few added extras. I haven’t finished reading it all but I have got through a fair chunk of the book and am enjoying every page.
Watched
With it being New Year Eastenders had to up the ante, killing two of their long-running characters Ronnie and Roxy.
As we all know, a wedding will never go to plan in Walford. As it turned out both the bride and her sister, the bridesmaid were both axed in a Cinderella style tragedy resulting in a Thelma and Louise style death in a swimming pool.
It was all very dramatic but actually very well produced from an artistic point of view. Despite having read the spoilers and being aware of the upcoming storyline I very much enjoyed watching this episode, it certainly kept me on the edge of my seat.
Heard
I’ve spent most of this week listening to the latest Now 95 CD Paul kindly gave to me in my Christmas bundle.
Now 95 is filled full of the latest hits which I have happily bounced around to whilst driving to and from work. It’s not as good as Now 94 but it’s definitely growing on me.
Made
Since starting Slimming World on Tuesday I have found myself making some massive decisions in terms of my diet and food choices.
It’s been really difficult but I’ve found myself making a range of different recipes, combining new flavours and making a record of everything that passes my lips.
Wore
Whilst putting away the Christmas decorations, Paul fished my old Demonia boots from the attic. I haven’t worn these babies for almost ten years, I had almost forgotten that I had them!
They were covered in dust and smelt a little foisty but after washing the laces, giving the boots a good scrub, spraying the lining with air freshener and stuffing the boots with half used Yankee tarts they look and smell awesome!
Despite my calves being a little more on the chunky side these days they still fit perfectly, I’m not sure when I’ll wear them next but they are now sat in my wardrobe all shiny and clean.
And Lastly
I was proud as punch when J arrived home from school today with news that he had won this weeks ‘Light House Award’.
Each week a child is selected from each class to win the award for specific reasons, J quite rightly won this for having a fantastic first term in year three. I was so pleased that I allowed him extra IPad time which is definitely a blue moon scenario.
I have also booked my ticket for the next Blog On conference in May. This will be my second conference as a blogger.
I am once again very excited to be attending this event and am very much looking forward to catching up with my blogging buddies, meeting some new faces, mingling with the brands and learning a few more tips and tricks from the blogging World.
I’m not sure whether you’ve noticed but following Christmas it seems that we are being bombarded by advertisements to book a summer holiday. It got me thinking that I’d much rather get one booked now and pay it off over time rather than doing what we did last year and leaving ourselves short by booking last-minute.
This evening Paul and I bit the bullet and booked ourselves a week away in the summer to the Club Mac in Majorca. The hotel looks and sounds amazing, there is so much to do with eight swimming pools, children’s clubs, mini golf, pony rides, free entrance to the water park across the road and much more, we can’t wait!
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. I hope that you have had a fantastic time celebrating the New Year and that 2017 is a good one for you and your family.
If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

I also love Bridget Jones, although I didn’t read the latest installment, just watched the movie
YAY for holidays!! Yours sounds like it will be amazing and it will be lovely to see you at Blog On in May. I remember those boots – I didn’t have any but plenty of friends did 🙂 x
They rock x
Those boots are awesome Rachel, my friend had a pair of those I preferred my DM’s (I was an indie kid). I don’t have anything from my teen days wish I had kept something now. Fantastic news about the holiday, it looks brilliant.
Thanks xxx
Loving those boots!! So glad you managed to rescue them, they look like new! xx
