The weekend is once again upon us, I can’t say that I’ve got the Friday feeling as I am fully aware that it’s going to be one hell of a busy weekend with one thing or another.
Anyhow, getting back onto topic and looking at things from with a positive perspective, here are my #LittleLoves from the past seven days.
Read
In terms of physical books I cannot say I’ve read much of anything over the past week. It’s been all about the Bailie, Natasha Bailie that is and her venture away from Channel Mum into the World of working autonomously without restrictions.
I love to read and to watch quirky, empowering and honest blogs and vlogs. Natasha ticks all of these boxes for me as you may know if you’ve read some of my past posts. Whilst I understand that working with Channel Mum must have been pretty awesome I couldn’t help but to clap my hands with glee when I read Natasha’s latest post announcing that she was going solo.
Watched
Ever since it first began both Paul and I have enjoyed watching the hit comedy Benidorm. Having travelled there ourselves last summer we were especially looking forward to the latest series which is now airing on ITV.
It doesn’t matter how bad your day has been or what shizz may have gone down, you are guaranteed a good old giggle by flicking on an episode of Benidorm. The star of the show quite simply has to be Kenneth, never before have I seen a man rock hot pants and a vest top quite so proudly or loudly for that matter.
Heard
I finally got around to sorting and stacking the CDs into the cupboard this week yes that’s right I’m old school (or just old for that matter) as I still own those shiny little circles from which Music may be played so long as they aren’t too scratched from having surfed around the foot well of my car for months on end.
Having arranged said CDs into many different orders, I found a few classics that I’d almost forgotten and couldn’t resist frapping into the cd player that still has cassette decks attached for a bit of a boogie in the living room.
Ani Difranco’s ‘Little Plastic Castles’ album was the first to get played, the tracks may have jumped a little but not half as much as both E and I did as we danced along to ‘Little Plastic Castle’. Seriously, this tune will never age, I’ve fallen in love with Ani and her wacky style of Music all over again.
Made
Other than a large batch of flapjacks and a few meals here and there I cannot say I have made a great deal this week.
I’ve made a few pages which have been added to my blog containing all the boring, important stuff such as terms and conditions and disclaimers but unless you count boring crap and baking I haven’t made a lot really.
Mental note to oneself – Must make more next week!
Wore
I ordered some new tops online this week all of which have now arrived, have been washed and dried and are currently sat in the ironing basket awaiting some serious steam. I haven’t really worn anything different or new but I know someone who has…
On Wednesday J and his class took part in a ‘Egyptian Themed Day’, as part of this J had to dress as an Egyptian and whilst the letter sent home suggested that parents shouldn’t worry about spending money on outfits and should instead make their own.
I decided that for £6 it was definitely worth dishing out the dough and cheating as no matter how hard I may try to transform a pillow case into a costume it was more likely to end up looking s*** rather than sheek.
J looked incredible in his costume, he was also quite happy to wear copious amounts of eyeliner so long as that he could later adjust it to Jack Sparrow-esk guy-liner. Seriously though I had no idea how hard it could be to put eyeliner onto somebody else’s eyes, especially a wriggly seven-year old!
And Lastly
I may have been working for most of the day but with it being Mother’s Day last Sunday I was spoilt rotten by both the children and Paul.
I have never seen a card so big as the one which is sat in my living room windowsill, it’s mahoosive! The chocolate may have all been eaten and the flowers may be looking a little limp now but I had a fabulous day which will be treasured in the Mummy memory bank.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

Love the costume and definitely worth shelling out for. I am not creative in the slightest and would rather buy something online. Sounds as if you had a lovely Mothers Day x
It was fab thanks Tracey x
Snap, I’ve ordered myself some new clothes this week too. J looks ace in his costume, you are so good with eyeliner I would end up looking like a demented panda ! #LittleLoves
Thanks Angela xxx
The costume looks fab! I always groan whenever we get a letter about a themed day at school. As much as I love to see all the creative costumes I do wonder who on earth has time to make them?! xx
Yeh exactly £6 was easier!
